Maybe discussed already, this is the first time I've seen all engines officially moved away from 502/505. In fact Audi has skipped 504 all together for many engines and gone straight to 508. I'll stick to 504 in our Q5 in any case and don't think 508 products are even on the shelves here yet...

Can anyone comment on the merits of 502 and 504 for this engine? It's direct injected and some google searching shows that there are some long-term carbon build-up issues. The OCI with a 502 oil is 10k. Is there any reason to not use a 504 oil and cut the interval?

Is the Castrol 5W-40 OE Professional used by VW/Audi dealers the same stuff you get in Walmart, AAP, etc?

Anyone familiar with maintenance of current Audi products? Today Audi says their G13 coolant change interval is.. none. Can't say I believe that any fluid is a lifetime product. Normally coolant is a 4 year interval. If this is an extended drain product, 6 years would be reasonable?
