Thank you for the recommendations everyone. I changed the oil yesterday with Mobil Super High Mileage 10W30. Could my past oil consumption have been a result of a weeping oil filter? I never noticed any oil on the ground or burning smells.

I've done 2 Maxlife OCs. I didn't see any leakage, I assumed it was burned off. I've looked for Kendall everywhere! It is available online in 12 quart packs. I don't have the space to store 24 quarts (5W30 for Winter, 10W30 for summer). OCI has always been 3k miles.

Your answer was spot on. I've heard people say, even on here, that synthetics and dino lubricate an engine about the same until you pass a certain number of miles at which point dino oil starts to break down while synthetic doesn't.

My guess is RAM. Software memory testers almost never catch actual issues. I had a desktop with the same symptoms that ran memtest for hours without issues. I swapped out the RAM anyway. Issue resolved.

Is there a sticky or book for these acronyms and what they mean in terms of the oil (PAO, Groups etc.)? I don't know what they mean, but I would like to know.

A stupid question? My understanding is synthetics can cause seals to change shape and wash away debris blocking oil leaks. On the other hand, conventionals provide less protection for engine internals. That leads to the conclusion that a blend provides the best of both worlds, not causing...

Is there any reason for older/high mileage engines to prefer synthetic blend over full synthetic? Until recently, most high mileage oils were synthetic blends.
