2019 Equinox Electronic Park Brake Problem

Update: I obtained a scan tool that allowed me to read the LR pressure sensor, and it was stuck at 14400, indicating the module was bad, per the bulletin. I opted to replace hydraulic block (ABS pump & valves) with the EBCM. Was thinking about installing it myself and driving it to a shop to...

2019 Equinox Electronic Park Brake Problem

Thanks for the reply. I'm currently attempting to find a shop in my area that may be able to better diagnose the vehicle than I can. Hopefully they'll have access to tools that can get the park brake module back among the living. If not, they can replace / reprogram the EBCM.

2019 Equinox Electronic Park Brake Problem

Thanks for the reply. The rebuilt LR caliper had its piston fully retracted when installed. The motor was original from the car. I did not check to see if the driven 'bolt' in the caliper was free to move before installing the park brake motor, but when I attempted to use the scan tool to extend...

2019 Equinox Electronic Park Brake Problem

2019 Chevy Equinox, AWD 2.0L, 100k miles. Electronic Parking Brake code C0561-43 (EEProm error) after rear brake pad and caliper service. I used an Autel Maxicheck to retract the brake pads, then changed rotors and pads. LH caliper was replaced with rebuilt, but park brake motor was reused...

    Bad coil question

I recommend replacing only the bad one. However, as you replace the spark plugs, inspect all of the 'soft parts', i.e. boots, springs, etc. If those are available separately, I'd replace them any time you're changing plugs. Without knowing how difficult it is to access the coils on your engine...

How can you possibly trust your tire gauge?

For those of you that compare gauge readings with the TPMS system, keep in mind that the TPMS sensors are just that... not true gauges. By that I mean that they do not have any compensation for the atmospheric pressure outside the vehicle. So as you go up in altitude the TPMS will continue to...

Pickup Truck Winter Tires - Considering Michelin X-Ice Snow SUV

I currently use the X-Ice Snow SUV tires on all four corners of a GMC Canyon in mid Michigan. They're 265/65-17. I've used them for two winters now with good results. I use them primarily to improve traction on ice and packed snow, as the roads are cleared of deep snow quickly, but icy...

It never fails.... oil pan drain plug threads stripped out by mechanic.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. This is only one of the reasons that I use a Valvomax drain valve instead of a drain plug. No tools are required for oil drains and the original threads in the pan are never in jeopardy. Other drain valves are also popular including Fumoto, etc.

Melted Spark Plug Electrodes only on Bank 1.

Bear in mind that the 3800 utilizes a 'waste spark' ignition system. Half of the cylinders will have the centerwire be positive polarity and the others will be negative (conventional) polarity. Over time, this difference will cause a noticeable wear pattern that differs depending upon polarity...
