I see walmart sells Accel 10w40 with an SE rating. I need an oil with higher ZDDP for my flat tappet engine. The label says for cars 1988 and older. I have a 70's dodge 318. Would this oil be a good choice ? or would I be better off with say Valvoline VR1 to get the higher ZDDP levels. For that...

I've got another old V8 also, That has high mileage. And low hot idle oil pressure. I (as much as I hate to say this) have poured in a bottle of STP oil treatment.
