Toyota Venza FWD 4 cyl any thoughts ?

I've forgotten what it was like to drive a "REAL" car. With a nice ride, quiet, and so much larger. It's like driving your living room. Toyota says 0W-20. Does that sound right? Would you think of going to synthetic at 42,500 (when oil change is due)

Toyota Venza FWD 4 cyl any thoughts ?

After driving the PT Cruise for 13 years, this 4cyl Venza has the power or a new Challenger to me.. ok, well maybe not that much. I priced Highlanders, they all had a ton of miles. And even with high mileage the prices were to high too even think about.

Toyota Venza FWD 4 cyl any thoughts ?

My old PT Cruiser is in need of a lot of work and money (that I don't want to invest in). So I'm thinking of buying a 2012 Toyota Venza FWD 4cyl. Tell me the good/the bad etc.

    Snow tires VS winter tires??

OK, so modern Winter tires give far better traction than the old mud&Snow tires. And you must use them on all four corners. If you were to use modern winter tires all year round (Ohio) , how long would they last ? (mileage)?

Think I bent the crankshaft on the mower

We don't have much lawn mower problems in Ohio this time of the year. But if I were to clear my lawn with my SnowBlower, I may run into the wife's plants.

    Snow tires VS winter tires??

OK I'm old, Back in the days of RWD and carbs. Everyone bought Snow Tires (if you wanted to go anywhere). So now there are Winter tires (kind of like all season tires). So what is better? old school snows/or Winter? For a RWD vehicle. Can you just put Winter tires on the rear only /as you did...

Nylon timing gears ? still in use ?

Long ago late 70's I worked as a mechanic. Back then a lot of engines had nylon cam timing gear teeth from the factory (was meant to have less noise). Most all replacement cam gears were steel. Since a lot of newer engines are going back to timing chains, are the manufactures using the nylon...

easy to work on modern, non domestis vehicles

This spring I may start looking for a newer used vehicle, to replace my 2002 PT Cruiser. Rust and other repairs may put an end to it. Although I've never owned a NON domestic vehicle. I've been giving it a lot of thought lately. Since owning the PT Cruiser, we would like a larger/nicer vehicle...

    Used vehicle buying high mileage

I've always bought domestic vehicles. But thinking of buying a Honda/Toyota or something besides domestic. I hate to say that, cause I've always been the Buy America, type of guy. But had a bad problem with a new 2009 Jeep Patriot (first new car). Lost a lot of trust in Chrysler's. And would...

    Used vehicle buying high mileage

Thanks for all the input. I'm not quite sure why Chrysler has gotten such a bad rap recently. But then again I've been out of the mechanics trade for over 15 years now. Always thought the caravan and Chrysler 300 were as good as the everything else on the road..if not better.
