    Quirky features on your cars?

My Grand Cherokee does this. First time I topped of the tires this past fall due to temperature drop I did the drivers back tire first and heard a honking and thought it was the car waiting behind me for the air pump. Went to do the front tire and the horn honked again and I figured out it was...

    EGO trimmer adventure

Purchased the EGO string trimmer today. It’s the “16 inch” version model 1623t. Put it together, charged up both batteries, it came with a free smaller 2.5 ah battery in addition to the main 4 ah one. It trimmed down one side of the driveway, put it down to move something and when I started...

Looking to buy a '24 BRZ or Toyota GR 86.

To be honest I’m way more comfortable with the 4th gen EA888 than the Subaru engine. From what I’ve read the GR86 has a bigger engine now, 2.4 I believe, but is still slower, less powerful and gets less MPG but it is quite good looking.

    OCI recommendations - 1.5T 2017 Civic Hatchback

I have a 2016 civic coupe and use 0w-30 507 oil in it and premium fuel. I have 127k miles on it with only spark plug change and have changed the cvt fluid three times so far. It’s driven a lot less now but I change the oil every 5k miles and sometime in March/April no matter the mileage to get...

Looking to buy a '24 BRZ or Toyota GR 86.

I’m in analysis paralysis btwn a GR86 and a GTI and am also only considering automatic transmission. They both have many positives but I’m shading towards the GTi as it is way more practical and just as much fun.

VW workers in Tennessee vote to join UAW in historic win for Detroit union

I worked union jobs my whole life. I retired at 52. The contract is an agreement btwn the employer and the employee. Where I worked overtime was offered on a seniority basis and unfilled OT was filled by reverse seniority and that plenty simple. The employer and employees agreed to it and...

    Automotive manufacturers websites

I will go eventually once a get my bearings as to what I’m looking at. I have Lexus/Toyota, VW/Audi, BMW and a couple others trim packages down by heart and makes walking the lots easier. I’ve got a lot of studying to do with Mazda though and I’m 6’3” and 250 so size is important to me somewhat...

    Automotive manufacturers websites

I’m currently looking to buy a new car and I’m in no hurry. I’ve been perusing the websites of various companies and while many are pretty straightforward none compare to the rabbit hole that is Mazda. I feel they have too many trim levels and common options like heated steering wheels and rain...

Ever had a engine or Transmission failure?

My wife’s cars have never had a problem as she rarely takes them over 100k, except for her 2003 Yukon Denali XL which went to 168k flawless miles before trading it it. My vehicles never had engine or transmission problems and I usually take them to 150k+. The only component I’ve ever had...

Bimmer owners - Any decent used model?

How are the most recent 2.0 turbo twin power 4 cylinder engines holding up? Seems every auto manufacturer has a 2liter turbo engine now a days and most seem to do pretty well. VW for instance has the EA888 gen4 and besides the water pump/ thermostat the are reliable.

    Opinion on Honda's 1.5 L turbo

I have a 2016 Civic Coupe with the 1.5T I have 126k miles on it and it doesn’t use oil though I do see some fuel dilution during the winter. They are very picky when it comes to spark plugs, which is the only thing I’ve had to change besides oil and filters

    Are Hyundais reliable?

Yes PM is where it’s at. When I traded the A4 in on the cross sport @97k miles the timing chains were in great shape as verified with obdeleven. I changed the pcv/oil separator out at 70k miles as PM to protect the rear main seal and the top end was spotless

    Are Hyundais reliable?

As an avid VW and Jeep owner H/K is a bridge to far for me lol. That being said I have never had problems with my VW or Jeep and have taken many to 150+ miles with bitog level maintenance lol. I think that is where many average H/K owners drop the ball and run them in the ground.

    2024 VW Atlas SE W/Tech

Beautiful suv. I had a 2020 cross sport VR6 and loved it. Wife kept complaining about how wide it was and seeing over the hood. Tbh it is a big vehicle and has a lot of interior space. The second row seats are excellent for third row access. My dealer was very reasonable on the price of both...

Two Thirds Of New Cars Will Be Electric/Hybrids by 2032

Give me a plug in hybrid with a solid 50mile electric range and a peppy ice engine and I’d be totally happy. Someone needs to come up with a solution to fuel dilution. Need some type of a way to remove fuel from the oil whether it be a catalyst, filter or some other kind of magic to keep the...

Harbor Freight... American Made, Lifetime Warranty

I’m retired and just putter around now so HF tools fit my use case quite well in most cases. As for country of origin the US is pretty independent when it comes to international trade. Net exporter of food and energy and items that are on the high end of the value added chain. The United States...
