Oversize filter for '02 Accord 4 cyl

I posted this question on the driveaccord.com gen 6 forum and have not received ONE response in 3 full days, (weekend included). I don't know if those people are ignorant or arrogant. Almost 50 people looked at the question, but no response. Over on the saturnfans.com website I got great help...

Oversize filter for '02 Accord 4 cyl

Arco, I appreciate your response. It seems the 57356 is only .3" bigger that the stock 51334. It's -10F outside now and when it warms up a little, I'm going to have to crawl under the car to see exactly how much extra clearance there might be. I was hoping for an inch or two.

Oversize filter for '02 Accord 4 cyl

I forgot to add that on Ebay I did find an oversize filter for this car. I never heard of it, it's a "Hamp" p/n H1540-RTA-505. Any thoughts?

Oversize filter for '02 Accord 4 cyl

Any Accord owners (gen 6) 4 cyl using an oversize oil filter? The stock filter is soooo small! Could you post a part number? Wix preferred, but I could cross most anything.

Kroil vs. New York Rust Belt Weather

I've had great success with Kroil, but I just bought some Silikroil (with silicone) and plan to try this on difficult situations. I too live in the rust belt, (Michigan) and both my cars have over 220K on them.

Is Royal purple worth the extra $$?

My opinion on RP is anecdotal. I used it once in my 2003 3.3 Chrysler Minivan and for the only time in its life I experienced engine rattle on startup for from 5-10 seconds. It seemed it would all run down after the engine was shut off. This is the ONLY oil that did this in this car. Mostly I...

Recommend an oil for new to me 1995 saturn sc2

I also have a Saturn ('99) SL1 and have been following the saturnfans.com website, lots of good advice there. Their feeling is do not use high mileage oil, it causes the rear main seal to swell too much and fail. For sure, check the oil every time you fill up. Also use a fixed orifice PCV valve...

Oil for a high milage Dodge Caravan 3.3l

I had an '03 Chrysler Town 'n Country w 250K with a 3.3 that a deer totaled out a year ago. I used Mobil 1 10W-30 and had no motor problems. I did have to change the oil pan gasket once though. Van ran quiet and smooth. The only time I had a problem was once I tried Royal Purple 10W-30 and got...

Why do you prefer a certain oil brand?

Well, since the last time I used Pennzoil and jumped through all their hoops for the rebate, and since they refused to send me my rebate, I will NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES EVER BUY ANY PENNZOIL PRODUCT. Also, no Valvoline, a while back I talked with a large rebuilder of engines north of...

Any experience with Mag1 motor oils? Synthetic?

There is a Farm and Home in nearby Chelsea, MI and they have the Mag1 line of oil along with others. The synthetic is less expensive and has seemed to work well, but I have not seen this brand anywhere else. Anyone have any knowledge of the synthetic from Mag1?
