Bridgestone Ecopia + - surprisingly good.

Pezzy: Do you know if they did roadforce or static balance? I'm pretty sure mine was static after talking to a tech. I am youhad a good experience, but I bought a new set in July 2019 and had a bad experience - in the end it seems like 1+ tires out of round or NG quality. Tires were Ecopia...

R&R CV Axle on 1996 Maxima

If you remove the two nuts on the strut, you must get an alignment. If you can just remove the ball joint you can avoid getting an alignment but not sure she can come out that way. Just something to think about if she isn't too crusty

anyone use a steamer for car cleaning?

I just bought a steamer from Costco online- it seems to be a rebranded mccullough 1275. Checked specs and it was similar. I LOVE it, I bought it to clean my filthy Prius interior (2004). I didn't want to use water extraction because I was worried it wouldn't dry and would smell bad. The...

    More metal flake in oil...

I had a chrysler LHS that had metal in the oil for 45K miles (and that was upon me caring for it... who knows how much longer it was like that). 120K-165K then I gave it away. Is it your only car?

Sounds like a dead cell. I had same thing happen on a car last year.

    Inclined parking killed battery?

I replaced the battery on my partner's truck in May with a Costco battery. All was well, until he parked it on a hill for over a week. Probably 30* incline, nose down for reference. Went to start it - dead. It jumped off and was OK but wouldn't start later... diagnostic was dead cell. Was the...

    shaving tires

Tire rack used to shave tires, not sure if they still do. I'd buy a whole new set. Why jut one new tire and then ruin it? When my tires get down to 4 or 3/32 They usually perform bad anyway.

Semi-autopilot is available with newer vehicles

My car has adaptive cruise (not ground breaking) and forward collision warning (does come in handy). It's a Camry. I considered a crv purely for the semiautonomous driving. I skipped out on crv due to cost and drivetrain vibes/cvt.

    No Job for College Grads?

I graduated at the height of the recession (IMO, 2009). My viewpoint about your perception of the job market is you don't understand how the past recession stills affects wages today, and how your family member has a job in demand but could also be debated maybe by some people). I found a job...

im going to need to get something eventually

A manual and awd/4x4? I wouldn't even consider a Jeep. They are horrible for daily duty. You're asking for advice; my opinion is no for this. Loud. Bad Ride. Lousy economy. Suspension requires alot of upkeep to prevent 'wobble.' Suggestions: Would you consider dedicated snows on a fwd car...

'13 Cruze LS Air Filter Pics - A3145C

Surprised GM is stepping it up. How has your cruze been treating you? I looked at them briefly, but went with a midsize instead.

Just got 2016 jetta, 1.8tfsi, 1,200mi oil change?

I did an oil change at ~1000 miles. The oil that came out didn't look super bad, so I felt like it was a bit wasteful. The filter had a ton of metal debris in it. I felt better overall, but had a problem with leaks (Toyota cartridge, had to buy new filter cap). Do what you feel is best. Really...

    Toilet Wax Rings ?

I have replaced th m before. First, don't panic. Even if you find something wrong, it can be fixed. I usually panic, but it's something I am working on. Get some rags, old shopping bags, and a big black trash bag. Rags to clean flange and base, shopping bags to use as "gloves" to get the big...

Buy 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8??

I understand your affinity due to your current GC service. My opinion: no. Reasons: Sisters husband had one (the 5.9?). Many issues. This was about ten years ago. Are you considering anything else?

Screwed twice on expensive car repairs

Give up this car. Put it on Craigslist, see what it can fetch. Use that to get another car. My old boss has one, it's a piece, too. Just dump it and get something Else NOT Chrysler/jeep/dodge. The quality is not there. They don't last the long haul in bless you get big old diesel truck. My...

    Fram PH16 cut open

I used this the last 2 intervals on my 99 3.5 Chrysler. I didn't take them apart, but I like the textured can. It helps removal due to very tight access. I run them about 4K.
