    Filter wrench

Walmart Hyper-tough wrench.....cheap and works well for removing filters but will not tighten one if that's needed. Can handle up to a 98mm filter size...

    saw horse choices

I have a pair of these and bought a pair for each of my two sons. I really like how a pair clamps together for easy storage and handling. Very easy to use and setup and surprisingly sturdy. They go on sale frequently both online and in-store specials. The in-store specials can be super deals...

    retractable air hose reel recommendations

I have a 25+ year old Craftsman air hose reel that quit locking when the hose is extended. I'm too lazy to pull it apart to see what's broke or worn out and just want to replace it. It's also has a very large plastic enclosure that takes up quite a bit of wall space and a older hose that turns...

    Quick headlight restoration?

I've had good luck with just Meguiars PlastX or just their cleaner wax with some minimal elbow grease.

    Good Disposable Rubber gloves

I use the Harbor Freight gloves as well. Yes the price went up during the pandemic but it seems to have stabilized and go on sale fairly frequently as well.

Milwaukee USB Rechargeable 800 Lumen Fixed Beam Flashlight!

Torque Test Channel included the Milwaukee in a comparison with several others. They more or less said it was good but the MSRP was too high. There were a couple of others that outperformed it and cost less. If I remember a Coast model was one that cost less and performed better.

Craftsman SAE & Metric nut driver set.

Technically it covers SAE and Metric ranges (it's in black and white right on the package) just not very common or typical metric sizes.

First time for a New/ Newer car list

Just a heads up, I do not believe the Kia Hyundai 10 year 100K warranty is transferable. It's for the original owner only the last time I checked. The Mitshu warranty may be the same but it's worth checking if that's one of your primary purchase criteria.

    2020 CX5 oil capacity discrepancy

My experience with Mazdas.... I currently have a 2021 cx5 turbo and 2018 3 na. Previously had a 2014 6 and a 2016 CX5 (both na). Oil changes were so simple on all four. Just dump a full 5 qt jug in and it worked out fine on the dip stick. Almost always right at the full mark! I've occasionally...

They may even help you find it as they have access to wholesalers and car auction sites.

    TireRack and Discount Tire association

That's true as referenced, but "Tirerack" does not currently list Discount Tire Stores as a preferred installer option at time of check-out when buying tires. Last fall I bought a set of Pirellis from TireRack that DT did not have on their website. I was thinking I'd have them delivered to DT...

    TireRack and Discount Tire association

As most know Discount tire bought TireRack a few years back. The two companies still maintain their distinct and separate identities so much so that Tirerack does not list Discount Tire as a installation partner on their website! Can anybody think or heard of a reason for this. The only one I...

Cordless tool replacement battery, $240 or $38 knock-off?

My neighbor is a airframe mechanic for a big airline. They have to buy their own tools (they do get a small benefit to use as they want for tool replacement etc.) He said when he and his fellow workers look for replacement batteries it's almost always aftermarket ones due to cost. They look for...

New Vehicle Purchase in small-town Montana

Buying in a small town has advantages in general. My wife is from a small town in western Kansas and we visit frequently. There's only a Chevy / Buick dealer there. They rarely have more than one or two new cars and/or SUV's on the lot as they really can't afford too much inventory. But they...

    Electric pressure washer decision

Yes the sun joes have a lot of plastic but they're surprisingly sturdy. When I had the shorter hose I did pull it over several times on the driveway and nothing broke or cracked. I got the longer hose to prevent this from happening. One thing to watch for is the misleading PSI claims. Most...

Tell me about Mazda, maybe the CX 30

Had a 2014 Mazda6 Touring in soul red. Loved that car and kind of regret trading it in. It was a beautiful road trip car. My wife, however, thought it was too big and didn't like driving it for that reason alone. I ended up getting her a 2018 Mazda 3 GT and have to admit that wasn't a bad decision.

Tell me about Mazda, maybe the CX 30

I currently drive a 2021 CX5 turbo and my wife has a 2018 Mazda3. We have had 2 mazda 6's, a 2016 na CX5, a 1st gen RX7 and a 2nd gen MIata. I've liked them all! None were ever in the shop except for normal maintenance or a very rare service bulletin. They have exceptional handling, comfortable...

    Electric pressure washer decision

I have a Sun Joe spx2688. Got it on Amazon for around 100.00 during one of their sales. The one thing I didn't like was the relatively short hose. I replaced it with a 50 foot flexible hose and the Dusichin short tip gun and foam canon. Quick connects and adapters came with both. This converts...

Looking for new air impact wrench

While I like the "compact" XT for numerous reasons I've decided to go with the Husky I mentioned in my first post. I choose it primarily for it's no nonsense 3 year warranty ( the XT is 90 days unless you purchase an extended warranty) and a little upset by HF's return policy if for some reason...

Looking for new air impact wrench

I may have to suck it up and consider a cordless impact wrench. But I'm not quite ready to give on air power. I do currently have 5 or 6 18v Hitachi/metabo tools and as many batteries of various Ah capacity. A new 18 volt Metabo impact is a little on the weak side at only 225 ft. lbs. They do...
