What tools do you take with you to the Salvage Yd?

I also found peroxide and band aids would have been useful if I had brought them. And extra extensions for the socket set. I was intrigued by the range of people and their equipment. Some had a small bag, some a backpack full, and some had custom wheelbarrows full of tools and parts extracted...

What tools do you take with you to the Salvage Yd?

I went to the auto salvage yard today. It's been many years since I've had this sort of fun, but I packed a socket and open end wrench set with some screwdrivers and found exactly the part I needed. It was held on with Torx head bolts. Went back home and got what I needed and got it out I'm...

I Like The Oils That Have Safety Foil Under Cap

I don't like the foil, you could get a small piece in the engine. Aluminum isn't the only way to make the container tamper proof.

    The Price of Motor Oil

The market price for oil just fell 10% today. Pretty sweet, although not if you are in the shale oil industry, I'll bet.

how to change tire while driving

Wow, removing the lugnuts with bare hands. Gotta hand it to them. And replacing the tire with the same tire, that doesn't seem practical to me, although I've known a few tire shops that would be happy to do it that way.

    The Price of Motor Oil

With petroleum coming down 25-30% in the last month, shouldn't we be seing oil prices coming down as well? I don't see any sign of it. Petroleum has been so high for so long, it seems to me that the sellers of motor oil are happy to see it stay right where it is. Or am I wrong?

Shell engine teardown of experimental low-viscosit

I can see a low viscosity engine oil becoming a no viscosity engine oil with a good dose of fuel dilution from DPF regeneration.

    Tesla does it again...

I love the sound of a V8. I really love the sound of a V12. I like the sound of a V6. And I would drive a V4 before I would drive an electrically augmented car.

    2011 f250 6.7 powerstroke

So, to recap, you have a 6.7 powerstroke with fuel dilution of 1% in your UOA, and switching to PU Euro 5W-30, the wrong spec oil the fuel dilution is now at trace levels? Does it also work well as a hair tonic?

Hello gang, new member here, long time lurker, recent subscriber. My F-250 leads a pretty soft life, occasionally the bed gets loaded up to full capacity, but a daily driver for the most part, and recently taking a job 5 miles from home, it can make for some pretty lousy conditions for a diesel...
