Post your latest small engine oil change

Older troy bilt 2400 series snowblower ( was a curb find. I think it's 20 years old) I ran citgo super guard high milage 0w20... Leftovers from a recent oil change. At least it's not the half quart of atf that was in it.

    2015 Tacoma 2TRFE 237k mi; Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 4.7k mil, with a mobil 1 filter

Mechanically I'm starting to think it's the VVT system. Either the camshaft actuator or the solenoid. As far as oil pressure, last time I did it was a summertime but it was above spec at idle both cold and hot. I can't quite remember what it was but I know it was above 20 psi idle...

    2015 Tacoma 2TRFE 237k mi; Pennzoil Platinum 0w20 4.7k mil, with a mobil 1 filter

As the title says I have a 2015 Tacoma with a 4 cylinder. I ran Pennzoil Platinum 0W20 and a mobile one filter. I ran it just over 4600 miles, just shy of the 5000 mi recommended interval. Looks like they were concerned about the iron and potassium, in the flash point is just under the spec...

Low Oil pressure issues when cold?

Unsure. The truck doesn't come with a gauge. I just looked it up as well, and it's a one-wire sensor so I'm 99% sure it's just an oil pressure switch, so I'm unable to even read live data. It doesn't appear to have any oil pressure issues when warm, even with 0W20, on the hottest days, so I...

Low Oil pressure issues when cold?

For a few moments I wouldn't be so upset, but it's long enough for the lifters to depressurize and start clattering away. It can take upwards of a half minute to sort itself out. Thats worrisome to me. It seems as though It actually has zero or very close to zero oil pressure. The truck is used...

Low Oil pressure issues when cold?

I have a 2015 Toyota Tacoma, it has the 2TRFE 4 cyl. Having an odd issue. I first saw it last year but it was not that common. Some of the time on cold startups, I would almost lose prime and the oil light would initially shut off and then turn back on. By cold I was looking at negative...

    Farm rated 5w40?

That's the stuff! But the file won't open for me

    Farm rated 5w40?

No, but it isn't bad for an everyday price 5w40. There is a semi synthetic that ends up being a touch cheaper, and it seems like they go on sale quarterly

    Farm rated 5w40?

Fleet farm has 5w40 farm rated synthetic for $100 per 5 gal. Anyone know who makes it for them, or any other information on it?

Farm rated universal atf, does anyone have any thoughts?

My local fleet farm is selling 5 gallons of traditional dex iii/mercon for $45. I have an '02 E-450 with a 4r100, that specs older fluids. Anyone use it? Is there any reason I shouldn't? I'd like to practice a pattern of drain and fill the pan

Strange issue with a Toyota 2.7.

I will probably run it for my next oci, but it's going to be 11 months before it gets that cold again

Strange issue with a Toyota 2.7.

Overnight, it's parked in my garage, it averages about 25f when I'm not running the heat. This happens when I'm at work, nowhere near a plug sadly. And it does it at idle.

Strange issue with a Toyota 2.7.

I am comfortable running the larger oil filter in this application, and have seen it done many times. The oe filter was a 3614, and I'm running a 3600. Many shops used to use them interchangeably, and I'm sure they still do. I ran it this time, because it was available, and the 3614 in the...

Strange issue with a Toyota 2.7.

I've got a 2015 Toyota Tacoma, with a 2.7 4 cylinder. So far on really cold days I have a very odd issue. On cold startup, it acts as though the oil pump loses prime. I will get pressure for a second and then the lifters will collapse and the oil light will turn on. Blip the throttle or give...

Anybody else having trouble picking up gear oil at Walmart?

I could have, but the whole point of Walmart for me is for cheap available fluids, on demand.

Anybody else having trouble picking up gear oil at Walmart?

Seems to be, just wondering why it isn't in stores

Anybody else having trouble picking up gear oil at Walmart?

Except it isn't, I've seen one quart over the last three stores. By the time I went to the second store if it was available I would have sucked it up and bought it. I could go to a parts house, but all their markups seem excessive. The Valvoline at O'Reilly's is $8 more

Anybody else having trouble picking up gear oil at Walmart?

I've been to three Walmarts in my area, looking for 75 w 90, and I can't find any of the supertech. I'm just wondering if it's a me thing or if there's a greater problem?

Synpower, versus Mobil 1, versus super lube. Is there any stand out here?

I've been helping a buddy prep a pop-up camper for use. It has one of those Dexter axles with the easy lube system, and I'm pretty sure the previous owner just threw whatever grease he had on hand in there. So we've got an apartment we're cleaning it up and I figured now is as good a time as...

    225/75 r16 load range E. Any suggestions?

I have a Ford van, that takes six 225/75 r16, in load range e. I'm looking for a tire to eventually transition into. It's a highway and dirt road rig so rib tread patterns are probably preferred, something with a more eco-friendly pattern, and something that's rated for snow and ice. Any...
