Good that you've solved the issue!

Suzuki K10C (tgdi) had parts issues but keeps losing boost pressure

I'd keep it simple and start checking the intercooler hoses very carefully for splits, especially if they are all the originals. Look particularly in the bends and where the hose clamps go.

    Diesel additives for DPF/EGR longevity

FlyingTexan, may I suggest you check out Cost Effective Maintenance, they are an Aussie company specialising in fuel additives. Their website is very informative. I am in no way affiliated but use their products and have been happy with the results. There are US distributors I believe. Regarding...

    Thoughts on these compact cars..

Go with whichever one you get the best deal on. The whole CVT thing is over blown, IMHO. We fully intend to hand our (CVT) Impreza down to our eldest daughter 4 years from now with no reliabilty concerns whatsoever.

Do you use a reminder sticker when you do your own oil change?

I use the windscreen stickers too. Typically, oil containers in Oz have them on the back, you just write on them with a permanent marker, peel off and stick on the window. Is this a thing in other countries?

How Often To Replace Air Filter?

Well for my vehicles, Mitsubishi says every 45,000km, while Subaru says every 25,000km...whatever those are in miles...I just go with manufacturer recommendations, easy :)

    Diesel car or SUV dead?

They might be dead in the US, but diesel vehicles are everywhere in Australia. Consistently among the Top 10 for sales each month are Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Triton and Isuzu D-Max, all of which are only available as a diesel. Toyota Prado and Toyota Landcruiser 300 Series also...

Help with oil type and weight selection

It might be worth asking whoever built the engine what they think?

Subaru Impreza first oil change - very easy!

17mm drain plug, was the usual "factory" tight, nothing ridiculous though. New crush washer on and torqued it up until my elbow clicked :)

Subaru Impreza first oil change - very easy!

Did the first oil and filter change on the wife's Subaru Impreza today. Very simple to work on. Has enough front bumper clearance to drive up on my ramps, the plastic undertray has a cut out for the sump plug meaning it can stay in place, and the top mount oil filter didn't spill a drop when I...

Most you ever went on a factory fill?

So 11000 miles is just under 18000km, first change on that Kia is due at 15000km (in Oz), so not really a big deal, it's only a little over. I went the full 15000km on factory fill in my Outlander, no issues, still runs great. Wife just got a new Impreza last week, first oil and filter change...

Oil recommendations for 2013 Toyota Yaris 1.3L - 2nz-fe in Australia

They came with the 1.3 in the poverty packs, higher spec models had the 1.5. SR5 is spot on with the recommendation to use Edge 5w30 too :)

    Mercedes ute, who knew?

Dual cab diesel utes are the best selling vehicles in Australia and MB wanted a piece of the action, unfortunately their rebadged Nissan Navara didn't fool enough people...

Anatomy of an OEM Oil Catch Can (CCV Filter)

The Mann Hummel Pro Vent catch can system is very highly regarded in Australia, and I have one fitted to my Outlander diesel. I drain it every 5,000km and it always has 300-500mL of "stuff" in it - water (condensation) and stinky diesel oil (fumes).

    Mitsubishi Outlander?

The 2022 Outlander launches in Oz in a couple of months, we'll be test driving one as soon as possible with a view to upgrading from our current Outlander. The overseas reviews I've read and watched seem very positive and the interior looks like a huge improvement over mine. No mention of a...

    30,000kms without an oil change

That's ugly, but rather than risk engine damage by attempting to clean it, I'd drive on and continue with your normal OCI... probably just with whatever semi syn happens to be on sale.

    diesel engine!!

Diesel vehicles are the best sellers in Oz - Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger are only available with diesel engines here, and with our high(er) fuel prices they make sense - but in the USA, where fuel is dirt cheap, nah, I wouldn't bother with a diesel.
