    Mann Oil Filter for BMW

Thank You Quattro Pete. Seeing a close up picture of the filter makes it easier to make the decision to buy them. I guess this the new technology.

    Mann Oil Filter for BMW

I've used Mann filters, oil/air, for years, but they have had metal end caps, never seen the clear plastic one's before. This filter is the OEM cartridge type, for the M30 engine, for my 1979 BMW 733i. I have owned the car for over 30 years. I'm glad to see someone who has used them. I'll buy...

    Mann Oil Filter for BMW

I need to buy some BMW oil filters and looking at a parts site, they offer several different makers. The Mann filters are less money, by a couple of dollars. The end caps aren't metal but a plastic?, or cardboard, like Fram's, but seems to be clear. Anyone have experience with this new filter?

    Toyota Hourly Workers...You're Next!!!!

Howdy to all, Interesting topic of conversation about Honda's auto plants in the USA. I read last month that Honda, will be closing the Motorcycle assembly plant in Marysville, Ohio, and returning the building of the Goldwing and other bikes made there, to Japan. Not Mexico or other countries...

Six month review: 2003 Buick Park Avenue

BUICK is one of the most under-rated cars in the world. I have grown up with them in the family and own a couple, now. I am glad that you are happy with your 2003 Park Ave. You had a problem with leaking of the rear air shocks, I read in one of the forums here. What did you do to fix the...

Mobil Delvac 1300 Super $3/jug rebate

Doug, Good'ay Mate. :) Nice to see your postings, as I haven't posted on BITOG, for a while. MOBIL'S DINO Delvac, seems to be a secret on here, whereby it is one of the "best bangs for the buck," in the USA. It does what I need to be done, very well and economically. I don't work for MOBIL...

    Boeing loses a big one

This decision is as crazy as the greedy bureaucrats that made it. I can't understand the money logic, in purchases like this. Penny wise and pound foolish, is the only thing I can say, at least in mixed company.

Mobil Delvac 1300 Super $3/jug rebate

I use MOBIL DELVAC SUPER 1300 15W40, in all my 1970's cars. I change the oil yearly or under 3000 miles, as the cars are not driven daily. They go to meets or tours, or drive them only when the weather is nice. They are stored for the Winter Season. It's a common sense way to go on these cars...

Is Kendall GT-1 the best oil?

Mr. HONDA, Had a preference for Kendall Oils. He wanted the Dealers, to use it in his Motorcycles and Cars, when he started importing them into the USA. Kendall has a history, in the early days, when he was making Piston Rings, actually saved his Company, when he started up in business, after...

    1000000 MILES ON A CHEVY!

Saw this morning and think this guy has been mentioned before in other stories. 3000 mile oil changes and 85000 miles a year. I think he was using Pennzoil at the oil change place, just came to mind. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080201/AUTO01/802010440

I have a stupid question about Alaska's HWY system

John, Go to the bookstore and buy a soft-cover book called the MILEPOST. It has all services and businesses and anything else you need to travel the Alaska Highway. It used to cost around $20. It may be also on the internet these days, and it will answer your questions or give you an idea, on...

Want redneck? I'll give you redneck!

I think it's an advanced air intake system. The rearward direction of the intake takes advantage of the high pressure area that is built up in front of the windshield, at speed, therefore more positive air pressure! My old TransAm, had a system like this. Nascar uses the principle in having the...

New Diesel Minitruck & SUV coming for '09

GM has bought controling interest of VM Motori, of Italy, from Roger Penske. Roger owned Detroit Diesel, before he sold it to Mercedes-Benz. So what you ask? The diesel engine in the Jeep Liberty, was from VM Motori. GM wants small Diesel Technology and Capability, now. I don't know if VM...

Old Fuel--Damages and Top End Lubrication a MUST!

Panzerman, This advice is for pre-75 cars w/o cats. Those are modern cars, with cats, and this won't work if you want to keep emissions legal. Most of these cars have hardened seats and guides to run on unleaded fuels. This is for old stuff like Jay's '29 Duesenburg, or your '65 GTO, Pontiac...

Old Fuel--Damages and Top End Lubrication a MUST!

Gang, I like watching "Jay Leno's Garage", and saw this, on his Duesenburg Rolling Chassis and old fuel. He stuck the exhaust valve in the guide, of the Duesenburg straight 8 engine. This is what he found and his modifications to prevent it. He says to use ATF in the GAS, as a top-engine...
