Move over Enzo, the Veyron tops out at 253 mph!

You guys might lol, but it's amazing that the sound of the engine is totally not unlike the sound of my W8 Passat. Must be that W configuration that gives out some specific note. Somewhat like typical V8 groul but not exactly.

tire brands you will/wont buy again?

I've had some negative experience with Bridgestone-unlikely to buy again even though it could be just particular model Potenza RE "something", don't remember exact number). It just lost performance at 2-3K miles on C320 Mercedes. At about 10K it became plain dangerous with traction control...

Lubro Moly Longtime High Tech 5W-30 base group???

Where to find it? 0W-30 sounds great, at least on the paper.

    GC is Dino

Well, my "better" local VW dealer uses Elf Exellium 5W-40. Good oil on it's own except no VW 503.1 spec, which is pretty tough spec, BTW. My other local VW dealer never could specify what oil they use and most probably just pour in anything that is cheap. VW of NA, BTW, recommended me to contact...

    GC is Dino

Well, 5W-40 has "Designed for MB and VW" or something to that affect, yet it is missing some stuff I buy GC for (funny, because I buy GC specifically for VW AND Merc), in particular MB 229.5 and VW 503.1. Once and if GC is gone I am at loss as to what oil to use, outside of some exotic (and...

GC for under $4.00/qt? It's true

I just got 18 quarts on sale in Canoga Park store (discounted at the check out) for next change in both cars (Passat W8 and 2003 C320 Merc) I still had one quart left from previous change. #@$%!, those cars have large oil capacities (9.2 and 8.5 quarts). Some were 05-06 with "Out perform" label...

Pento high performance 5W40 oil pics!

It's interesting. And none of these, above mentioned, oils have VW/Audi 503.1 (is it W engines Long life or something similar?). I guess I will stay with GC, only easily accessible (and fairly affordable) oil with the spec (at least seems so). Dealer, BTW, uses Elf Exellium (for all synthetic...

GC in my '06 Sentra 1.8L

I'd actually worry (maybe even a lot) about 3 quarts sump. This is just not enough for poor overworked underpowered engine. JMHO, of course.

GC in my '06 Sentra 1.8L

Try my 9.3 quarts sump. Ouch... 4.0L engine, 8 pots plus oil cooler. W8 for you.

    New GC Club Member

Too funny. This is how I felt buying GC for the first time. And, as to your question, if there is no oil loss, you shouldbe just fine. Chicago doesn't get THAT hot anyway.

New Euro blend GC is Green?! *Pictures*

Once again, guys. Oil I put in my car was two types. I didn't check ALL the dates, except for checking that it was supposed to be gold (for sure passed cut off date, all made in 2006, I didn't check the day of the year when I saw 06 since I didn't see point in doing it). One type was gold (one...

We hope "new greenagain" GC is that very oil.

Doesn't current chart show 12 at 100°C? 12.1 is not whole lot, but still more:)

New Euro blend GC is Green?! *Pictures*

Like I said, by English I meant lay man terms, not translation. But actually, by now I figured most of now. It's pretty temp stable, will not freeze anywhere except for deep in Russian Sibiria and seems to be even a bit heavier then curent GC, which brings it even a bit closer to xW-40 weight...

New Euro blend GC is Green?! *Pictures*

Could someone talk English about this new oil? Looks like it could be an answer to mistery of new "greenagain" GC. I personally feel good about it (if it turns to be true) since it says "W-Motore" right in the specs. BTW, by English I don't mean translation (I can use Bable Fish too) but short...

New Euro blend GC is Green?! *Pictures*

Yeah, BTW. I am very happy with the oil. First GC change, up to now car had only dealer changes. W8 always made funny noise on start up, kinda shaky "drrr-drrrr". Now it makes nice "muscle car V8" kinda "vrooom-vroom" on start up, much smoother. Idle is quiter and smoother. And I've had some...

New Euro blend GC is Green?! *Pictures*

I've done oil change today for my W8 Passat in local indy shop. Used GC. I assumed that all oil I had was gold (all of it was 2006 oil). When he started pooring it in I was surprized to see a very distinct green color. Moreover, one of the bottles out of 9 happened to be gold!!! Dude was like...

    VW Passat W8 oil requirements

Yeah, it must be a typo. VW customer care replied that dealer is the best source for information on oil required in my climate zone for my car. So far it seems that asking for VW503.01 and 505.01 on the same oil is asking for inpossible combination and I will have to pick and choose. Most (if...

    VW Passat W8 oil requirements

Hello, new to the board. Searched to no avail (both board and internet). I have 2003 W8 Passat, one of the weardest engines on the road. I have just 12K on the clock and did two first oil changes at the dealer, I think they used bulk Castrol W5-40. When I talked to them at 10K service I figured...
