    changed oil but not filter...

wasn't trying to save money, just trying to use and trust what i've learned on BITOG from all the knowledgeable people. Plus, it's deer season and i was trying to save myself the time and effort of crawling on the cold stone driveway to wrestle with the filter when i could be out in the timber! ha

    changed oil but not filter...

...and my friends are giving me a complex about the bypass valve opening and letting the crud into the engine. I've done my research on here and feel comfortable that I'm fine. Here's the skinny.. 2004 2500HD with 122K. Semi syn kendall 5w30. oil coming out had 5000 miles on it. put fresh...

Will STP S2870A work on 95 saturn sc2??

Basically the same specs as recommended filters, just longer. Seems like a n oversize filter which many run on that car.

Figured I would throw it out there. Haven't looked up the specs. Just have it lying around. Car is just a tinkerer.

    Ram pentastar oil life monitor

What are your thoughts on the accuracy of it? I am shocked at the lifespan of the oil according to the computer. I do a ton of short tripping where oil temp doesn't even hit 180 yet it's giving a 8500 mile oci according to the OLM. Wouldn't seem that a full syn would take that even.

    Another mixing thread...

As a result of the Great American AZ clean out, I have kendall gt1 blend 10w40 and castrol gtx blend 5w20. Looking to mix for a vortec 6.0. Summer runs only I'm thinking. How do these add packs work together? Any issues? Thanks

Hydraulic mixing question in newer compact tractor

Thanks. The yanmar spec is essentially calling for 303/j20a fluid which is an old spec. It actually says j20a on the tf500 fluid through my research. Nonetheless sorta outdated. My bucket of wolfs says j20c only but I think I got an older one. May switch out for j20d this spring anyway as I'm in...

Hydraulic mixing question in newer compact tractor

I have a yanmar ex2900 that currently has wolfs head ht in it from the dealer. It's hydrostatic. The dipstick is telling me to add fluid. I can't find it by the quart anywhere. Is it ok to add a quart or so of something else like the traveller premium fluid or do I really need to buy another...

    2009 Camry v6 consuming

My in laws Camry is consuming roughly a quart per1500 miles. It started to on 5w20 so went to 5w30. Was fine for a while but now seems to be doing it again. Using castrol gtx white bottle only so far. This is a replacement engine with unknown mileage to me but nothing crazy. Oil suggestions...

    Kia GDI engines

Don't know what engine the veloster has, but I heard a story of a soul having knocking issues. 2.2 liter I believe. Was replaced with a short block And started doing the same thing a week later. Replaced again under warranty again with a long block which fixed it. Not sure what a long n short...
