    19 4Runner M1 0w40 11k oci

2019 Toyota 4Runner, 4.0. Oil was M1 0w40 with a fram orange can. Typo on the mileage...it was an 11,000 mile run. Saw temps from -40 to 80 Fahrenheit. Lots and lots of idle time. Oil was replaced with M1 0w40 and a fram ultra

    75w90 conventional vs syn???

Toyota's call for 75w85 gl5 front and rear which is not common. 75w90 is though. I understand that interchanging those is fine but my question is in regards to paying extra for 75w90 syn over conventional. Is there any advantage? Does syn gear dope actually last longer and or protect better? I...

E-core super tech vs Fram orange can 10k

Ok sports fans...cast your vote 10k oci and you can pick either filter (those who say neither need not respond...I know there are better filters) Both rated to 10k by the mfgr these days. Supertech e-core 3614 ($2.98) Fram OCO-D 3614 ($3.88) P.S I've no issue with either and use both just...

    Visom and GTL Question

Hey Guys, Recent post made me think of this...Wasnt Exxon Mobil Visom tech supposed to be a stop gap or something until they got GTL up and running? Did they give up on GTL or am I way off base. Any pros or cons to visom vs. GTL. IIRC weren't they basically ways to get PAO quality base stocks...

Can someone tell me who makes this version of supertech?

Take a look at the picture attached. I know in the past our oil up here was Citgo but this is a different bottle. Didn't see any Warren markings on it...not sure and hoping someone can help

    Supertech extended drain?

In a Toyota 2.7 (2tr-fe) that sees mostly 75% plus highway driving is there any reason to believe super tech synthetic can't go the 10k oci as recommended by the mfgr? Current UOAs are with M1 0w40 and I've had a TBN over 4.5 each time after a 10k oci Same question for a Toyota 4.0. Reason...

Havoline syn ds for extending oci?

Currently running 10k ocis with m1 0w40. No issues. Just saw the havoline 6qt box and it's intriguing. It's a dexos 1 gen 2 so I know it's good but does a yo e think it can go 10k in a standard efi?

    QS Ultimate Durability 5w30

Im interested in the QS powertrain warranty and buyback program for my Taco and 4Runner. I emailed them and included a copy of Toyotas verbiage allowing a thicker oil than 0w20 and they said in writing they will honor the warranty and buyback with the use of 5w30. That said I've not used QS...

    ecore questions

Hey Guys, Have the Ecore issues been resolved? Reason I ask is that super tech filters are super cheap and readily available for me...but are Ecore. Running 0w40 in a couple Toyotas in cold climates....just want to be sure they are up to it. If your comment is in regards to owners manual...

I need 2 stroke oil and ratio advice

Hey Guys, Ive got a number of 2 strokes 86 Johnson 15hp Echo line trimmer Echo Timberwolf 590 chain saw Echo Backpack blower (biggest they make) All call for 50:1 except the outboard with calls for 100:1 (I run 50 to 1 in it though) Sadly ive never given much though to the 2 stroke oil i...

Fram Ultra Cartridge good for 30k?

Hey Guys, 4runner is absolutely awful to change the filter on...awful. Its out of warranty anyways...would a fram ultra cartridge be good for a 30,000 mile OCI? Running top shelf lube at 10k oci. This way I can change the oil filter with the air filter say once a year when I do the diffs etc.

    Toyota 2tr-fe questions

In a UOA of this engine...what should I be looking at for bearing wear. Iron is from the cylinders and valve train, aluminum from pistons etc...but are the bearings led and copper or what in this application

    19 Tacoma 2.7 M1 0w40 10k oci

2019 Tacoma 2.7l I4. Lifted and on 32in LT Tires. This is mostly highway usage with sustained RPMs in 3500 range for hours on end. The factory fill was dumped with about 100 miles on the unit and replaced with m1 0w40fs and run until 10k. This is M1 0w40fs after its second 10k run. Oil filters...

    M1 0w40 FS oci vs M1 AP?

Is the 0w40fs better suited to long drains than say M1 annual protection? It's got a huge starting tbn...more so than any of the low saps oils...just curious to everyone's thoughts. I'm running it at 10k in both my Toyota's plus all my ope

    Can 0w20 handle high RPMs

Lots of posts from me in regards to high RPMs and which oil to use...I apologize. Perhaps I'm overthinking this...2 tacomas...a 3.5 and a 2.7...both 2019s...both spec 0w20 but allow for a heavier grade for high speed driving. With my travels, both average about 3-3500 RPMs. Any reason to think...

    Mobil 1 0w30

I don't see much about this lube. How well does it hold up to extended drains? Considering it in a couple of Toyotas but they call for a 10k oci...perhaps my work vehicle as well...another Toyota. I was strongly leaning towards 0w40 M1...but am worried about potential warranty issues should...

Has Mobil 1 0w40 been discontinued?

I no longer see it on their web page...what gives? Looks like they have a bunch of other new oils though including a 5w40 that looks to be the replacement for the FS variant. FS sure didn't stick around long if this is the case

    High RPMs...thick or thin?

If you had a vehicle that was going to spend hour after hour at an RPM range of around 3-3500...would you be better off running a 0w20 or say a 0w40 assuming both were allowed by the OEM
