    brushcutter gear case grease

Rebuilding the gear head on a shindaiwa brush cutter (bike bar "trimmer" with a blade). Wondering what people's thoughts are for the new grease in there. This thing gets used hard cutting wrist poplar and red willow up to 3" diameter with a lot of shock loading on the gear case. Rebuilding it...

Fishing line choice-paralysis. Need some recommendations.

I like the Berkley Fireline Fused, slicker than the powerbraid and very little memory. I can be a bit slick on the spool if you don't anchor it really well and you pretty much have to use a palomar or similar knot or they slip out, the old trilene knot won't hold at all.

    Heat Pump Question

Doesn't sound right, I've got an 18kbtu unit and it'll keep a 1000SF space at 68F down into the single digits without using any auxilary heat strips. Head unit doesn't have them, there is an element in the ground unit to help with defrost but it rarely comes on.

Loctite PL 8x vs 3x adhesive

why not use good polyurethane caulk? Construction adhesive doesn't have the stretch that a proper caulk does.

    Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT

I had factory duratracs on my 2018 silverado 2500hd and switched to the ultraterrains. Those duratracs had a really bad reverberating hum between 25-35mph that faded out by 70mph, had the road noise from day 1 and it never changed through the life of the tire. Went with the ultraterrains because...

Leaves on the lawn - rake, gas blower, battery blower, pay some one or power mulching ? Let them be?

Gator G5 blades were a game changer for my leaf issues, we have a cabin that is pretty heavily canopied with a mix of oak and elm trees and about 1.5 acres. Some places the leaves are 6+ inches deep and 2-3 passes with the zero turn and they are pretty well broken down and settled below the...

Has anyone added aftermarket exhaust to a chainsaw?

You can run a 24" on that saw, skip chain will help immensely. They also have semi-skip which is between a regular chain and a skip chain. Pull the muffler off that saw and take a look at how choked up it is, I'd be suprised if the factory outlet is a 3/8 hole. Open that up to a at least 70% of...

Economics of running a small window AC unit

mini split with a cassette head, they mount flush in the ceiling and look pretty much like a ceiling vent for the central air. https://senville.com/12000-btu-ceiling-cassette-air-conditioner-sena-12hf-ic/

    watch jumping time overnight

Battery is low, temp in the house cools down overnight just enough for the battery voltage to drop. Warms up in the morning or when you put the watch on and starts acting normal again.

Help me visualize "Degree of Light"

It's not a little less light, it's a significant difference in the perceived light output. A 1000 lumen light spread out over a 10' circle vs a 20' circle is a lumens/square foot change by a factor of 4

bait the underside of the trip pedal, push it up through the holes in the pedal. They can't lick it all off without really getting in there, kraft singles works great applied the same way.

Rolling scaffold stair tower. Cheap to buy used, stable, large safe working platform, put it together and roll around till your done then take it apart or roll it over under the heater and leave it. You'd need to go two sections high to reach 16'.
