I have been to many Walmarts in North Texas. They have all had Trop Artic.

Made the switch in my daughter's 1995 Dodge Dakota with the V8. I will now be running Trop Artic 5w30 for 5,000 mile intervals. I think this oil is up to the challenge. What say you?

I have likewise used oil 4-5 years old with no issues. But even if it weren't in "tip top" shape, I wouldn't expect my engine to fall apart. If I had some older, I would use it, maybe not as long.

Back on topic, I don't believe there adding a half qt of what they had to be a big deal. You're fine. Just as if you had lost a half qt, you could top up with what you have on hand.
