Spark plugs changed after 195k miles, and 15 years, Mercedes S500

What I heard was that everyone was expecting some really serious economic turmoil so in the beginning prices were low. Everyone blew through their inventory and then things never got as bad as everyone was predicting (how I have no idea with how many people were out of work). That combined with...

Spark plugs changed after 195k miles, and 15 years, Mercedes S500

From what I understand the used car market is kinda bonkers right now because there are so few used cars on the market.

Anyone here using Invisible Fence? Does it work?

I would never use these things unsupervised. If the dog chases a cat or squirrel across the line they will get shocked when they try to return. Also, it doesn't stop people (or stray dogs, or wildlife) from coming into your yard and doing something to your dog. Both of these aren't a big deal if...

    Fusion Locked Out!

Did a little googling. Sounds like you can pop the hood with a long screwdriver through the grill.

    ice cream

There's a really sketchy looking icecream truck I see in my area that plays jingle bells.

    Folding canopies

The walmart ones are pretty decent. They will hold up to rain, but wind can be an issue. From what I've seen even a heavy duty ones will have problems with wind. Anchoring them properly goes a long way. If the wind can pick lift a leg off the ground even a little a gust can turn the whole thing...

How to build credit with a credit card

If you use amazon a lot get an amazon store card. The no interest offers are a great way to have a balance without being charged for it.

Rear wiper only wipes bottom half of window!

I had the same problem when I replaced the rear wiper on my Spark. The wiper manufacturer listed it as compatible with my car. Apparently they only check the connector type for compatibility. The rear window is very curved and the connector/hinge didn't have enough range of motion to follow the...

    About those cheap tires.

IMO that video failed to show there was anything wrong with the cheap knockoffs. The cheaper tires certainly didn't stop as well, but it didn't appear to be a significant amount, and the dramatic foam blocks in the way seemed to be there just to distract people from that. It isn't surprising...

This is the stupidest misuse of Tesla's autopilot

I'm surprised it doesn't have any way to detect a hand touching the steering wheel. AFAIK all other car manufacturers will only enable the lane keeping assist while hands are on the wheel.

    Backing into parking spots

I never backed in my old car, a buick lesabre. My new car is a chevy spark and I back it in or pull through whenever possible. I'm still a little new to backing in so if a parking lot is full of impatient people I just pull in nose first.

    Driving with parking lights on

I do the opposite sometimes. My car has DRLs, but they are the regular headlights at about 75% power. The running lights are off unless I turn the stalk to the 1st position (running lights only) or the 2nd position (headlights on). So if I get in the car and start driving while it is still...

    MTB tire pressure calculators?

Keep going lower until you notice too much rolling resistance (totally up to you how much comfort vs rolling resistance you want), you can feel the tire getting 'squirmy', or you start getting pinch flats.

Mobile Mechanics on Craigslist... mostly a ripoff?

I remember reading a story about mechanics that setup shop in the parking lot of an autozone and did would work on people's cars right there with a floor jack, jackstands, and a trunk full of tools. Everyone interviewed that had used their services was happy. There were multiple mechanics there...

    How my budgie made off

Yay! Thats awesome. Something similar happened to my best friend's parakeet when we were kids. Bird got out, flew one row of houses over (townhouses) and landed on someone's door knocker just before a storm hit. Those people were just finishing up moving out and took the bird with them. Turns...
