Just watch how much you're getting at one time. The body can only handle about 20g protein at a serving and will probably just purge the rest, so it might be better do the pure protein 2-3hrs later as opposed to adding it to an already high-protein food.

Any processed deli meat, even turkey, is considered to be carcinogenic, a lot of it due to nitrites and nitrates. It doesn't really have anything to do with the meat itself. Go roast a chicken or turkey and get it that way, not from the deli.

The direct effect of El Nino on warming ocean water is in the equatorial Pacific, not off SoCal. Linking El Nino to warming waters off California would contain a multitude of steps in between to make that conclusion (but still a possibility). That said, ocean water temperatures are just warmer...

Plant based protein is where it's at. I'd say stay away from dairy based whey and such, but I'm anti-dairy except for the local ice cream place lol. The Vega brand is pretty good and sweetened with Stevia, and I mix it with vanilla oat milk. Not too shabby.

Your two cents are correct in that it will vary, and yes, a wetter snow will have a lower ratio, dry powdery snow will be a higher ratio.
