Chevy and Cadillac essentially have no new EVs planned

At this point the best GM can do is take a loss every for every sale they deny to Tesla

At which temp range would you switch from 5w to 0w?

Not being able to do the pump ability test doesn't mean mean I don't know what it is. Try another strawman. Have a link to pump ability tests of used oil compared to new oil? Seems like you would have lead with that if you did.

At which temp range would you switch from 5w to 0w?

Its so simple even you can do it. Take a fresh quart of oil and a used quart of the same oil, put both in a freezer and see how much thicker the used oil is. You'll see the used oil is significantly thicker.

At which temp range would you switch from 5w to 0w?

Yeah if its only going to get changed once a year i say do it right before it gets cold. One of the first thing oil seems to lose is its cold pumping abilities. I'd rather run fresh 5w then a burned up year old 0w.

At which temp range would you switch from 5w to 0w?

Staying thinner than 6,000cP is all you need. Most 5w oils are getting pretty close to 6,000cP at -20f.

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

Yeah 4,000 miles of driving to work, going to the hardware store, towing no further than the next town over Vs. 4,000 miles with 1,200 miles of road trips was a huge difference.

$6 - $10 increase on oils (5qt jugs) in Walmart this morning July/2026

I did not know that 40% of the GTL was offline. Once GTL comes back online, as natural gas prices are still low and crude oil goes back down; im sure they'll roll back the oil to within a few dollars of where it was. Baring worldwar 11 or any other major theater accounting errors.

$6 - $10 increase on oils (5qt jugs) in Walmart this morning July/2026

Eh, I used to pay $35 to nearly $40 for Pennzoil Ultra Platinum before Walmart started carrying it.

Specs for wix bypass filter / Amsoil Eabp

I wouldn't worry about that 18psi. That's 18psi after the filter. I've seen plenty of diesel oil filters that run 20 to 36psi bypass. If that pump needs to make 30 or 40psi to push the oil through a partially clogged oil filter to make 18psi at the pressure sensor, it will.

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

On my wifes car I found that I couldn't go anywhere near the recommended oci of 7,500mi according to test results. I couldn't use better oil like amsoil or hpl due to fuel dilution. I could but I would be wasting it. Just her driving the car it needed 3,000 to 4,500 mile oil changes due to fuel...

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

My observation is Valvoline Restore and Protect seemed like it was barely doing anything until I took it on multiple road trips that involved some towing. Then I saw a dramatic increase in filter sludge.

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

My Honda piston in that pic had hundreds of hours on it and didn't have an easy life. The only break it got was the guy who used it for the 15 years before I had it I bet he changed the oil at least a dozen times on it, probably closer to 20 times. Only reason that Honda went bad was one of the...

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

Yeah. Run the engines, take them apart, look at the pistons.

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

Those "20 micron full flow oil filters" are actually pretty good at stopping particles down to the 1 and 2 micron range. Those bypass filters really don't do anything especially when you change your oil somewhat on time. I say if an engine is known to burn oil or needs 2,500mile oci to not...

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

Form what ive seen the main mechanism is neglect. You say it's the engines patman says it the oil. Which is it? I asked which oils and never got an answer, I and I'm sure many others would probably like to know what oils to avoid.

Piston burning erosion, engine runs fine no check engine light

Luckily he threw them in the bed of the truck. The plugs were probably in there for at a long time, started to turn green because they were champ coppers. Otherwise normal. I've seen plenty of lean plugs on my small engines none of the glazing or speckeling I've typically seen.

Oil Strategy To Prevent Carbon Piston / Ring Deposits ?

I dont think. I know. Note: does not work on European cars. You could have a 30 mile oci and they'll still carbon up. Idkw.

    New Headlights !

I didn't create problems for other drivers. The low beams are the factory low beams. The ligh bar doesn't add any wiring to the vehicle and magnetic feet allows it to be put away when it's not needed.

    New Headlights !

You can always add more lights. I wired in a pair of 55w H3 lights I mounted to my Fords brush guard. They're ran off a relay that gets power when the highbeams are energized and power for the lights is pulled off the battery as to not overload existing wires. If that's not enough I stick my...

    New Headlights !

Have you ever seen old halogen head light bulbs that haven't burnt out? The tungsten vaporizes off the filament and deposits it's self on the glass, usually along the top half of the bulb the most. The old bulbs look like they're tinted. Not good. That's why bulbs are rated for so much...
