Royal purple oil filters have gone downhill?

Just got a new one (next day from Amazon at no charge). Louvers punched perfectly. I'm assuming this a an industry wide issue and not just RP. Check your filters gents.

This is a better pic. Some are punched fully, some barely, some are half punched.

Molybdenum, Cam wear and Hemi tick

Just wanted to thank all the posters here. Really good stuff, especially seeing internals of the Hemi lifters as well as a better understanding of how the MDS system works. I'm on my 3rd Hemi and I have to say, for me, the 5.7 has been rock solid. I've had no lifter issues and I'm not sure this...

2014 Hemi 5w-20 really needed or is it [censored] for cafe

I run 5w30 QSUD in my 15 Ram Hemi. Used to have the occasional start up tick. That seemed to go away after 10k on good synthetic oil. No MDS issues here

    Amsoil announces 6% price hike

With all the very good synthetics on the shelf, Amsoil is not an upgrade worth the cost.

    Best filter for extended oci

Wix XP tends to get a lot of hate here due to its low filtration efficiency. 50% @ 20 microns.

    Media flow resistance

Amsoil is made there as well. Not sure if they still use the Donaldson media

    Pricey for a 50% @ 20 micron filter.

    Pennzoil Ultra Platinum ?

My Hemi was always noisy on PUP. Never had a UOA performed so I can comment on its performance but the valve train was a touch loud for my liking.

    Educate Me on Royal Purple

From everything I've heard and read, there's no added benefit to RP over any of the off the shelf synthetics. They do make great filters produced by Champion.

Nice work. Wish Wix was more open about efficiency with the XP model.

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-20 and Bigfoot?

I gave up on searching. God knows I'm not overpaying due to Pennzoils poor distribution.

    Amsoil's Synthetic Base Fluids

Strong bump. Amsoil has taken their marketing and has become the corporate shill they once despised. Too bad as once upon a time, people rallied around Amsoil as the greatest oil on the market, despite the corporate giants trying to hold them down. Too bad.
