    Since your Peugeot shares an engine with the BMW Mini it's likely safe to assume #2. BMW's product line is rich with electrically-operated, computer-controlled thermostats. If you have access to a diagnostic code reader, you may find a code is set for a faulty thermostat.

    PurePlus for 5QT jugs for $5

    No trouble, no mailing anything in. When you pop open the jug, there's a code printed on the inside of the lid. You plug that into the website and you're done. You'll have to wait for them to mail you a card if you're not already a FRN member, but that's less than a week.

    The 3K drain you're planning won't hurt anything, but there shouldn't be much to clean out either. Chrysler standardized oil a while back and dealer fill's the well-regarded PYB. On a 5K OCI, that engine should be pretty much spotless already.
