    PP 0W20 or PU 5W20

Thanks for the replies. I live in Chicago and even though it's April it's still winter. Just snowed last night. I drive 120 miles round trip to work and never redline the car.

    PP 0W20 or PU 5W20

I typically get Castrol Edge 5W20, but today decided to try out Pennzoil since it's well received here. I only buy 5QT jugs and I was limited to these two options. PP 0W20 or PU 5W20. I also read a thread on here that convinced me to get a 0W20 over a 5W20. Another thread said there is no PU...

Pennzoil Ultra on closeout, is it worth hoarding?

Why is it on closeout? Is something about to replace it? I only saw PP for $22.xx and PU was $24.xx.

    2009 Acura TSX oil recommendation

Car tells me to change the oil every 10k. In the past on my 00 Z28 I was running German Castro 0W30. I haven't kept up on oil news since then. Is it better to use extended synthetics and do 10k OCI or regular synthetic and do 7.5k OCI? Please recommend oil and filter for your chosen...

    Rank these filters

These are regular filters. Do you guys recommend running longer filters?

    Rank these filters

Just going by what I can get at my local Autozone. It's for a 2000 Z28. They are all made by Champion Labs. I change my oil/filter every 5K. Used to go with 0W30 Castrol now go with 5W30 since they ran out of the European one. STP $3.29 Fram $3.79 AC Delco $4 Bosch Premium $6 Mobil 1 $10 K&N...

    Shelf life of Auto-RX?

I have a bottle of Auto-RX sitting in my garage for 5 years now. And on top of it it's been through some extreme Chicago temperatures. Is it still good? I was going to try it on my 95K LS1.

    German Castrol here to stay?

Why is this oil so good? How can I tell the German version?

    Transmission additives

I'm posting this for someone who has torque converter shudder. It was really bad and the following product took care of most of it. http://www.lubegard.com/automotive/trans_atf.html Is this safe? He is thinking of using another one to get rid of it completely. He has an aftermarket...

Just cut open my ACDelco filter after AutoRx treatment

I do not care about my money back. I never asked for it. That was no the point of my post. Infact I have not read many threads in this forum. I had a feeling my engine was pretty clean. Now I'm even more sure about that. I purchased the product thinking my engine was clean all along. I just had...

Just cut open my ACDelco filter after AutoRx treatment

I use a power circular saw. I didn't cut through it just went around on the top. Then opened it up like a can and pulled out the filter element. Edited by 59 Vetteman: This misunderstanding was succesfully resolved by the two parties involved. [ July 24, 2002, 09:17 AM: Message edited by: 59...

Just cut open my ACDelco filter after AutoRx treatment

I owned the car since 30K miles. The first 2 years I've run Castrol Synthetic. Then I ran Trisynthetic for not even a year. Then Mobil dyno for about a year. Then the car set for 6 months. Now I put in the Mobil Blend just cause they were out of dyno stuff at the time. Even the oil looked brown...

Just cut open my ACDelco filter after AutoRx treatment

It looks very clean. Just little darkish brown from the used oil. Same color as the used oil. There is no dense particles or sludge in it at all. Draw your own conclusions. I used Castrol oil in the car initially, then Mobil synthetic, then Mobil dyno, now ran Mobil blend. Car has 100K miles on...

    Schaeffer Pioneered U.S. Lubes Business

Yup, most of general public is very uneducated as far as the techincal side of things is concerned. It doesn't help that most are also stubborn. I can't wait for my Shaeffers oil to arrive so I can do some analysis on it and show it to my local car club. It's hard to argue without proof.

    Schaeffer Pioneered U.S. Lubes Business

Advertising is very powerfull indeed. But they could make "honest" ads. Nothign wrong with that. Just something to let people know that it's out there. Would that raise costs too much?

    Schaeffer Pioneered U.S. Lubes Business

I was just going to ask something similar. Why isn't it sold in retail stores? It's been around longer then the other brands that are sold in retail stores. Why doesn't Pepboys, Autozone, etc carry them?

MPG, What matters most, Oil type or Viscosity?

Would the fuel economy be better when it's cold or hot? Cars are faster in colder temps so I'm guessing that more dense air requires more fuel so in the cold it should be less efficient since it uses more fuel. What do you guys think?

Best injector cleaner and best fuel system cleaner

    1. Is it bad to overuse them? Let's say I try one now, then 3000 miles later another one, then 3000 miles later yet another one. Will it harm anything? 2. Should I change plugs or oil after the treatment? That carbon has to go somewhere. 3. Where do I buy Shaeffers products?
