Seems like all we ever see are the complaints about dealer service so I just wanted to throw a good one out there.
We dropped off the wifes Grand am this morning to have them check on the rear main seal leaking. Here's a PICTURE of the the leak. It wasen't enough to drip but I figured by the...
It seems most all of the Jeep Liberty owners have a problem of the power steering unit making a brief noise when starting up on cold mornings.
I'm thinking I want to switch mine over to synthetic fluid as a possible fix but I'm not sure on the best way to flush all the dino out of the rack and...

Here is the info that has me kind of stumped...
Mobil 1 10w/30
cSt@40*c 62
cSt@100*c 10
pour point -45
flash point 244
Amsoil 10w/30
cSt@40*c 69.8
cSt@100*c 11.9
pour point -48
flash point 230
Ok, the Mobil 1 is clearly the thinner of the two so why does it have a higher pour point and...
Here is another analysis of the 5w/20.
Analysis was done by Blackstone labs.
This car is driven mostly highway mileage with some city mixed in by a 55 year old grandmother.
Their was 3,100 miles on the oil and a total of 25,955 on the car with no make up oil added.
JASON: No problems showed...
I've got a craftsman push mower with a 5.5 briggs that's been running sae 30 quakerstate since it was new (mid 90's). I want to switch it over to a synthetic oil this year and was wondering if I should run some type of engine flush/cleaner through it first or just switch it over and go.
I've been debating switching my factory diff lube to something like Mobil 1 or Redline. I figured since I'm now at 6k miles if there's any metal in the lube from break in I should change it.
The thing is my owners manual just says to use GM 75w-90 synthetic and to check and refill if needed...
My truck is a '02 GMC Sierra with the 5.3 engine. After the first two oil changes of Castrol GTX 10/30 I'm now at 6k miles and have switched to Mobil 1 10/30 and a K&N 2006 filter.
Now the bad news. I live about 4.5 miles from work and the engine is only up to running temp for 1.5 of those...
Hi Guys, I just found this website and I love it! Lots of good info. Anyway on to my point. As You all probably know Shell bought out Texaco, well at work some of the grease and oil we use is being discontinued due to this. Has anybody heard anything as far as Havoline motor oil? Just wondering...
