Where do you dump your used oil?

I keep mine in a tan five gallon plastic army surplus water jug and take it to the garbage dump every few months and dump it in a big recycle tank there. I think they limit you to only a few gallons or so at a time though, so sometimes they smart off to me and sometimes not. Just depends on...

Discuss AeroKroil (Kano Labs)? Not much discussion on it here?

I'm a maintenance tech at a plant that makes steel cord that is used to make steel belts for tires and I can tell you they are VERY strict on what lubes we can use around here because of rubber adhesion concerns. Sadly, synthetics are a big no-no here for that reason. But aparently Kroil...

Jeep 3.7L same sludging problem as 4.7?

I have a 2004 Liberty with 25k on it and it's been great so far. The Mobil 1 5w/30 gets changed about every 6k-7k and the area under the fill cap, and the dip stick both look shiny clean. I do notice a slight clickity clack at start up but nothing I'd be alarmed about. Other than that it idles...

    Blue Wonder and Hoppe's Elite

A friend recently introduced me to the Hoppe's Elite bore gel. After cleaning my Kimber pro carry with #9 and FP-10 a few days earlier, I went back and tried the Hoppe's Elite on it and it honestly looked like I hadn't cleaned it yet. The patches were come out black and peppermint green. I'm...

    2004 Jeep Liberty / Mobil 1 5W/30

Haley10: I try to run a bottle of Lucas fuel system cleaner / top end lube every few months or so just to help keep the carbon in check. Buster: The Liberty has a little over 15,000 miles on it now. Sorry guys, forgot to post that little tidbit. Thanks fellas...

    2004 Jeep Liberty / Mobil 1 5W/30

This sample is from my 2004 Jeep Liberty using 5w/30 Mobil 1 and a regular Purolator (not Pureone) oil filter and Purolator paper air filter. The engine is the 3.7 liter powertech V6. The oil was ran from 7/9/04 to 9/15/04. The first 3,000 miles of this 5,100 mile interval was used for our...

pics of my 2004 Jeep Liberty

These show it in stock form, Then lifted 2" with larger tires installed. Also there are a few shots of some of my modifications. BTW, I'm running Mobil 1 in the engine, Amsoil atf in the transfer case, and Redline in both diffs. My web page

    9,000-mile results are in!

I have to agree. The facts are in black and white here. If you weren't constantly topping it off and were driving shorter trips this oil would be done in my book. But in this particular case though the wear numbers don't scare me at all yet so let's see what 10k will bring. [ June 08, 2004...

    Dodge 4.7l M1 5w30

I'm also curious about that. The VOA's always show 1-2ppm, but just about every engine across the board using M1 has a slightly elevated iron level. Does M1 just attack iron parts or what?

    3rd UOA on 2003 Silverado 5.3 M1 10w30 4,761 miles.

I still can't explain that one. It never used a drop of dino in the first 6k miles, then I switch to the Mobil 1 and it drunk a quart then never used another drop after that. I've since traded it off for a Jeep Liberty because the dealer couldn't seem to make the transmission work right. So that...

    3rd UOA on 2003 Silverado 5.3 M1 10w30 4,761 miles.

I wouldn't freak out too much over those iron numbers. They aren't so bad for short trips in winter. Actually my analysis looked a lot worse than that. My oil Report

    Good experience with dealer service.

Seems like all we ever see are the complaints about dealer service so I just wanted to throw a good one out there. We dropped off the wifes Grand am this morning to have them check on the rear main seal leaking. Here's a PICTURE of the the leak. It wasen't enough to drip but I figured by the...

    This should settle it......maybe

Ok guys, we need a volunteer. Go test drive a new Honda for the weekend. Take it home, change the oil and grab a sample for analysis. Then just take the car back and tell the dealer you've had second thoughts. Do we have any takers?

    about UOA samples being lost

I sent them one week before last and didn't hear from them for five days. I sent them an e-mail to make sure they had received it and got the analysis back the next day. I've sent them six samples in all and have never actually had one lost yet.

    2001 Honda Civic / Amsoil 5w/30

This sample is from my mothers Civic using Amsoil's regular 5w/30 synthetic. The only thing that I thought raised a flag was the fuel contamination of 1.3% even though she takes trips of 50 or more miles almost every week. Guess I should make sure she doesn't idle it as much and maybe air it out...

    Offended by Janet Jackson?

I personally think the whole halftime show stunk. If Kid Rock wanted to wave a flag or hang it properly great but if your gonna rip a hole in it and wear it as a costume you might as well burn the **** thing. As far as Janet is concerned it was no accident, it was planned period. They need to...
