First oil change recommendations 2.0 2017 Elantra

I just picked up a brand new Elantra Limited as well. Seemed to be a good deal, $15,700 with all the bells and whistles for a brand new car, how can you go wrong? Liking it so far, just turned over a 1000 miles in its first week of duty. Between myself and girlfriend (who will primarily drive...

Amsoil ATL, ATF, Honda Z-1, D-1, Maxxlife.........

Just thought I'd update and revive this old post. I did do the 3x's drain and fill with Amsoil OTF at 180,000 and continued driving the wheels off of it, although not quite as much. She's at 267,xxx miles now and still driving like a champ! Still change the engine oil every 15-20,000 miles with...

    Royal Purple for HD Streetglide

Went ahead and did all three holes. Used the RP in the engine, neighbor had just bought Redline Shockproof Heavy and had an extra qt so used that in tranny, and used Amsoil MCV 20w50 in the primary. Had already ordered enough Amsoil 20w50 for motor and primary and Severe Gear 75w110 for the...

    Royal Purple for HD Streetglide

Thanks everyone for the replies. Yes, it has the Synerlec in it. With all the oil debates I just had never heard anyone recommend the RP so I was a little concerned. Next oil change will be Amsoil 20w50 in motor and I think I'll try their Severe Gear in the tranny this time, I just have the...

    Royal Purple for HD Streetglide

I'm just wondering about using Royal Purple 20w50 for the engine on my HD. I was planning on using Amsoil but a friend gave me 4 qts of the RP motorcycle 20w50. I haven't come across any forum comments or topics on Royal Purple so I was curious as to the quality. Thanks for any and all opinions...

2006 Honda Accord slow to shift from park to drive

Thank you for the replies. The Amsoil OTF fluid is a little higher viscosity fluid than the Amsoil ATL. No engine light on. Its the I4 engine. It has an external in-line filter. I have not changed it yet, procrastination on my part partyly due to extreme cold. I'm not sure the nipple size on it...

2006 Honda Accord slow to shift from park to drive

Hello all. I posted a couple of months ago about changing the tranny fluid out for the first time (It may have been changed at 69,000 miles) at 180,000 miles. I ended up using Amsoil OTF doing 2 d&f about 500 miles in between. Ever since then (and it has been bitter cold since here in Chicago...

    Search function

Hello all, new here on BITOG site and really liking all the info so far. Couple of questions though. I've tried using the search function to find info on my specific vehicles and I've yet to return any results that really relate. What am I doing wrong? Also, I seen someone mention in a post to...

Amsoil ATL, ATF, Honda Z-1, D-1, Maxxlife.........

Which pressure switch will cause this shudder? Mine seems to have a very minor intermittant (sp) shudder going into second gear. Would that be the second pressure switch?

Amsoil ATL, ATF, Honda Z-1, D-1, Maxxlife.........

Thanks everyone for the replies. Hindsight being 20/20 I too wish I would have changed more frequently. Driving 55,000+ miles a year with only half of that being for work the longest time the car was shut off was when I was AT work! I had to sleep sometime. :-) 110,000 miles between fluid...

Amsoil ATL, ATF, Honda Z-1, D-1, Maxxlife.........

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I know it prob should have been changed sooner. Time just flew by (or miles more like it), I bought it just a little over 2 years ago as a Honda Certified with 69k on it and they had changed it. I've since put the additional 110k on it. I do a LOT of highway...

Amsoil ATL, ATF, Honda Z-1, D-1, Maxxlife.........

I know this is probably beating a dead horse and I'll get a lecturing but here goes anyway. My 2006 Honda Accord has 180,000 miles on it. No noticeable trans problems. Possibly a very slight shudder on occasion shifting into 2nd but could be my imagination. Atf was changed at dealer at 69,000...
