    GM 10L80 Issues

Knowing this is a very common transmission, I am hoping BITOG can help out. I have a 2019 Yukon Denali with 2200 miles, that we bought the end of March. I know the prior version, the 8 speed, had issues, but I haven't seen many complaints about the 10 speed. I am having jerking issues, and it is...

Catch Cans - What's the Verdict?

One of my concerns is, are catch can's self-fulfilling? As in, does installing a catch can increase the vapors, thus allowing the catch can to look useful? Are they lower resistance than the stock PCV system, thus allowing more stuff into them?

Catch Cans - What's the Verdict?

The tough part is it's all anecdotal info right now. No one has had two identical engines, run one with a can and one without, and compared them. I am a bit nervous with my Yukon given I plan to keep it for a very long time, so I would like to maintain its performance (clean valves helping...

Catch Cans - What's the Verdict?

Looking around the GM boards, it seems the L86 in my Yukon has some coking problems. I've seen some photos after under 10k miles that are concerning. Looking into installing a catch can. The GM forums are all over the place on the opinions of them.... "Trust the engineers," "Have to have one,"...

    2019 Yukon Denali 6.2L L86 Oil/Filter Recommendation

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm going with the Kirkland Signature 0W-20 they are selling for $29.99 for 10 quarts. Round that out with a Fram XG10575, new oil drain bolt and gasket, I'm at about $40 per 8 quart change. Seems like a pretty good deal for great protection, OCI will be 5k miles...

    2019 Yukon Denali 6.2L L86 Oil/Filter Recommendation

Yea it's about 1/2" over full on the dipstick, no oil consumption from this engine, only 1600 miles.

I've just read that it's bad to overfill... Not sure where the line is drawn for the danger there.

Should I be concerned if I overfilled by 8oz? It's an 8 qt change.

Also, the XG10575 is significantly smaller (shorter) than the PF63e that came off the engine. Is that normal? I feel there is significantly less filter material in the XG10575.

    2019 Yukon Denali 6.2L L86 Oil/Filter Recommendation

Thanks for the info. I think it looks pretty great too! So I ham fisted the fill a little bit, and overfilled by about 1/4 quart, 8oz. It's a 8 quart sump, and it drained pretty thoroughly. Should I drain out the extra 8 oz, or not worry about it?

    2019 Yukon Denali 6.2L L86 Oil/Filter Recommendation

I have a brand new Yukon Denali, with roughly 2000 miles. It is actually a 2019 model year, manufactured in March of 2019, so the truck sat on the dealer's lot for roughly a year prior to being sold to me. Due to that, I want to get the first oil change done early. My gut says the oil in there...

2014 Jeep Wrangler (3.6L Pentastar) Oil Rec.

Of course I run this thing off road! I wish could more often, but it's just not a major part of my driving.

2014 Jeep Wrangler (3.6L Pentastar) Oil Rec.

Why is 5w-30 favorable over 5w-20? This oil change will probably be for the next 5 months. So august until January.
