Let's make a list of the 10 worst GM cars ever

I had an '83 Chevette. The parts didn't break, they decomposed.

least miles for your year car

I just posted this on the "How Long to 3000 Miles" thread: My mother (age 86) has a 2005 Cavalier (purchased new in 11-04) that has about 2,500 miles on the odo. Obviously, she doesn't drive much.

3000 Miles: takes you how long to get there?

My mom's 2005 Cavalier (purchased 11-04) hasn't hit 3000 yet. Current odo is 2,554. The thing is literally driven only to church and the grocery store. She's 86, so the low mileage is understandable. The oil gets changed every 6 months by the dealer.

Key Things For Keeping A Car In The Best Shape?

Appearance wise: If you've got a garage, use it! Sunlight and pollution will damage a car as badly as moisture will.

    Buick ties Lexus

MrCritical-I have a 2001 Lexus ES300 with 63,000 miles on it. So far, I've had to replace two brake light bulbs. That's it for a car that I will have owned for six and a half years. (Bought it new in Feb. '01.) As far as appeal to younger drivers, my son (age 25) and his friends all say Lexus is...

    Top 10 Guitarists?

Jeff Beck? He's not everyone's cup of tea, but I'd sell my soul for his hands and a Stratocaster.

Think we'll ever see this at a Cadillac plant?

    Only if Toyota buys GM.

Do you consider a Sportster to be a "chick" bike..

I owned a Cafe Racer (XLCR) Sportster back in the day. Beautiful bike to look at, horrible to ride. Also, a total POS. Left me on the side of the road so often, I sold it and bought a KAW GPZ550. Neither could be considered a "chick" bike.

Honda and Toyota no more for me

I can only attest to my personal experience: 2001 Lexus ES300-purchased new-currently has 61,000 miles-had to replace a brake light bulb at 49,000 miles. I'll be buying another one of these.

    Ever Seen a 1971 Superbird?

I used to own a 1970 Superbird. ( Yes, I cry everytime I see one sell for $100,000+ on the auto auctions on TV.) I read that Plymouth and Dodge did have plans to build 1971 Superbirds and Daytonas, but Nascar put a specific engine size limit on these cars that made them uncompetitive. This 1971...

In the movie "Vanishing Point", the car that explodes after running into the bulldozer blades at the end of the movie is a Camaro, not a Challenger.

Toyota Tundra lags domestic pickups in crash-test

Those that do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. We need to look at the 2007 Tundra like the 1987 Camry. Did Toyota learn and adapt? You bet. Will they learn and adapt with this truck? You bet.

Oil change on "low ground clearance" vehicles?

I think Rhino ramps makes a set that are specifically for lower vehicles ( Corvettes, etc. ).

Calling all those who know a bit about insurance!

I don't think subrogation would come into this scenario unless Ted was driving the car without John's knowledge/permission. If Ted was a permissive driver, John's insurance would cover the accident as if it was John driving. If Ted used the car without John's knowledge, John's insurance would...

Calling all those who know a bit about insurance!

I'm an insurance adjuster (work comp) and it's been a long time since I've handled auto claims. Also, state laws may mandate how policies interact. My best guess is John's insurance is primary over any other coverage. Therefore, about all Ted could do is offer to pay John's deductible. I don't...

    What would you do?

The speedometer in my '92 Mazda MPV recently started making a very loud whirring sound and the needle started to bounce up and down when I would reach about 30 mph. I took it to my mechanic and he said it was the speedometer cable and he replaced it. For $200, part & labor. I had it back for two...
