    Wendy's Now Cares

For me, what ruins most fast food chains, is the lack the lack of consistency from one restaurant to another. It isn't just the quality of food preparation, but also quality of service, dining room cleanliness and other factors. Since this discussion was originally about Wendy's, I'll share...

Best toilet for my new house?

If you are looking for a step above the Toto, Kohler, American Standard and such, look at Gerber. They are just a little nicer, and will look good in your bathroom.

    Your favorite jobber oil filters?

I can't think of a time when I have ever used a jobber type filter. I've removed a few of them off cars that I have bought, but they have always been replaced with at least a mid grade Fram, or better. I agree with those who ask the question of why, when a decent filter can be had for a...

    Why is Cinco de Mayo.....

Yup. I heard we can thank Corona for the huge celebration of cinco de mayo on the North side of the border.

Magazine's prediction on prices from 30 years ago appear to be off (tongue in cheek)

Thanks for taking the time to do the math. I did notice that the magazine ad said it would take $65k to buy a "basic car". One could argue that the most basic car would be a Corolla or Civic, or Sentra. But let's say that more of a mid range basic car would be a Sonata or Accord or Camry...

What’s your favorite weed and grass killer spray concentrate?

The weeds should start It should start dying sooner, and be better dead. If I understand correctly, a surfactant makes it easier for the weed killer to absorb into the plant.

What’s your favorite weed and grass killer spray concentrate?

From what I can tell from the labels, Trimec has the same three active ingredients as MEC Amine-D. For weed control on the lawn, I use the MEC Amine-D with a surfactant.

What’s your favorite weed and grass killer spray concentrate?

IFA, a farm and store chain here in Northern Utah, has a leaflet that they post by the weed killers. The leaflet has a recipe for "Killing Hard-to-Kill Weeds in Non-Turf Areas". For each gallon of water: 1 oz spreader sticker/wetting agent. 2 oz. 2, 4-D. 3 oz. glyphosate. For the 2, 4-D, I...

Educate me on the federal tax credit for buying a USED EV.

I think you totally underestimate the frugality of many of us. Getting or not getting the tax credit may not be a deal breaker. But $1500 important to anyone, especially someone who is careful with expenses.

Why do people use the rear brake?

I don't ride much any more. But I always use both. Much more front brake than rear, but always both. I can see how the power of the front brake can be enticing, to the point of using it only. But for me at least, using both gives so much more control.

Photo thread for tacky car mods

Pretty sure it is. But then, so is going 79 in a 65, right @Nick1994? ;)

Thread for photos that 100% do not violate any Terms Of Service, not political, not too lewd, no gas price pics etc.

That was my first thought too. But then I remembered that American flag protocol really doesn't matter to that flag. Not only is it not the flag of the USA, it never was the flag of the USA. No one even seems to know where the Bennington flag came from, or when it came into existence. The...

How often do you clean your firearm?

I used to be one of those that cleaned my guns after every time I took them to the range. But since then, I've read a few articles that suggest such frequent cleaning is totally unnecessary, and just a carryover from long ago, before modern gunpowders. I still have a hard time putting a dirty...

18.000 miles no oil change in a '96 Renault and I opened the valve cover

It seems like the engine could benefit from a fresh oil change, and then keep it on schedule. What is the reasoning for wanting to use used motor oil for makeup oil? Is it because your girlfriend is so cheap that she won't buy oil for an oil change, let alone makeup oil? If you like her...

What is your current favorite oil filter to use?

I have no particular go-to filter brand. But I do have filter brands that I like. For European cars, I like Hengst, Mahle, and Purflux. For anything else, I have no problem with premium filters from many brands.

Very odd. a 5 gallon cost more than a the same in 2 gallon tubs

I've seen deals like that some times, too. It's hard to understand, but good to be paying attention. Kilz is a good product, particularly if you need to really seal up over an older stain.

Wow, Tesla laying off more than 10% of its world wide workforce, two Top Executives leaving

The articles I read said that "more than 10%" will amount to at least 14k layoffs, worldwide. I tend to agree with the articles I have read, that suggest the problem with the current EV market isn't lack of interest in EV cars, but more about pricing of EV's. The market of those that are...

Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 Brief drive review

I'm not sure about the VW ID.4 looks. But the exterior doesn't float my boat. It just doesn't look distinguished enough to wear the MB badge, let alone be called a Maybach. But I'm with you about the interior. It is absolutely stunning.
