Clogged condensation drain on hybrid water heater.

Our Richmond (Rheem) wh’s condensation drain keeps alarming out and I am at a lose. Been every other week or so. The line itself isn’t plugged at all. It’s collecting inside the unit and hitting the sensor. The unit has been installed since August 2022 and it started clogging late last year/...

    14-3 25’ extension cord HF

Happy Friday everyone. While these are on sale, the cost savings is hardly enough to mention. These are somewhat of a hidden gem of HF IMO. They seem very durable and roll up very easily. I use them for less demanding tasks and battery tenders. (They do have 16-3 cords too.) I have a fetish for...

    ST3387 cut open

Came off my 1997 Blazer with Pennzoil 0w40. Installed October 2023. Removed March 23rd. I’m guessing 10,500-11,000 miles.. could be a little more. Ran for 2 5k OCI’s, but both were missed by a few weeks. I drive 500 miles a week. ADBV was pliable.

    UV oil leak detection kit?

    Any suggestions?

1997 Chevy Blazer oil line replacement.

Specifically the engine to remote oil filter line. Anyone do the job with success? A video on YouTube just shows a guy with a long extension. ~10 min job. Yeah right. I can’t get anything into the space. Went into town for some 1/4” extensions from HF. Ended up at the animal shelter and...

Used vehicle with low MPG average on DIM.

When looking at a used vehicle ad and scrolling through the photos, say you see a photo of the vehicle’s DIM with an absurdly low average MPG. Is this a red flag on mechanical issues and/ or CEL’s? It tells me they disconnected the battery in an effort to reset something. I saw an ad for what...

    Battery terminal cleaner

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I bought Noco brand terminal cleaner spray that really didn’t do anything. Is there something on the market that is better and/ or would allow a few hour to overnight soak? The terminals are fine so I really don’t want to replace them. Going to switch to an AGM...

    Leaking gasket

I noticed the other day the Fram PH3980 on my blazer was leaking at the gasket. Been using them almost exclusively since I bought the truck in 2017. I gave it a little crank to make sure it was tight and all was good. I bought a ST this afternoon with what appears to have a thicker gasket so...

2” ball hitch with 3/4” shank

Is there such a thing that also has a towing capacity greater than 3500 lbs? I understand the shank diameter is the limiting factor.. just curious if there’s a tougher one out there.

    BlueDevil PSF stop leak success

The steering gear on my 1997 Blazer had been leaking for a while and I’ve been dreading the job. I tried the 2 part Bar’s stop leak twice and it did absolutely nothing. Tried this stuff and the leak is nearly gone. We’ll see how long it holds. I’m going on about 1500 miles now. I waited until...

Buy what you want or buy what you need?

Say youre new vehicle shopping and you drive anywhere from 60-100 miles a day. Would you buy what you wanted or buy what you needed strictly for appliance purposes. Anyways, I really want a Tacoma or Frontier. I also feel I’ve needed a truck more and more with our home remodeling. Base 4WD...

Mixing gear oil and hydraulic fluid?

The front axle of my tractor can take both gear oil and hydraulic fluid. Judging by the smell, it was filled with gear oil from the dealer or factory. Can these fluids be mixed or should I just stick with gear oil for future changes?

    Selling things on Facebook.

I’m not very worldly as I’ve only sold 3 items on FB marketplace. Unfortunately, with everything I’ve sold, I received many generic “Is this still available?” messages. I see people saying they will not respond to those messages, but it’s my understanding you can also be reported for being...

    Decent hose pinch off pliers

I need a pair for an upcoming job and they are probably not a bad thing to have in the toolbox either. Any decent and affording options or should I just go to HF for their ~$13 pair? I would like a pair that locks. Looks like some on Amazon do not?

Grease for PTO cable on tractor.

Happy Friday everyone. The PTO engage/ disengage cable on my tractor needs greased. Both ends have rubber boots, but the end that is under the tractor is notorious for collecting crud supposedly. What grease should I use? I would think a spray would be more ideal. Thanks.

    5/16-18 thread stripped

I had a transmission issue with my Jeep 1.5 years ago that I couldn’t figure out. Took it to a transmission shop that was a customer of my employer (at the time) and they said 1 of my 2 bolts holding a recently replaced sensor in place was the issue. I’m having a hard time believing it, but...

    2015 Nissan Xterra reliability

I clicked on one ad for a 2015 on Bookface and now I’m getting hammered with them. 4WD models seem to be for sale around $15k or so with 110-140k miles. Decent condition. I’ve always liked the look of these. Are they similar to a Toyota 4Runner in terms of quality and reliability?

    Neiko allen socket sets

I used one the other day for the first time and was impressed enough to buy my own. I’m sure quality is comparable to HF, but you can’t go wrong with the price and a case. They also have the ball end style available as well. Price is currently just under $17 on the ‘Zon.

    Mower losing coolant

I have a 2022 Kubota ZD1211 with ~80 hours on it that is randomly losing coolant all of the sudden. It has a diesel 1100 cc liquid cooled engine. It was fine all last season, but up until now it’ll loose around 1” of coolant from the reservoir after every other use or so. The radiator is full...

    WM battery date code

I was at a Walmart yesterday and noticed they had a few batteries with 5/23 date codes. I always assumed that was the manufacturer date code, but being how we are so early in the month, perhaps they are applied when they are stocked on shelves? In theory, it would be ideal to go for the latest...
