Is there any harm in mixing Mobil High mileage 5w-30 and Vavoline Dura blend 5w-30? I am switching to Mobil high mileage and have two qts of the Vavoline left over from a previous change.
Thanks
Looking for opinions on which oil would be best for an 85 Honda Big Red 250, M1 0w-30, 0w-40 or Rotella t6. Trans and engine share oil. It is a shaft drive, so would it have a wet clutch or gears transferring power to the drive shaft.
Thanks.
Thoughts on using MMO as a carb soak? I generally use an aersol carb cleaner or a carb chem soak. The chem dips can be harmful on 2-cycle carbs, so I was wondering if a MMO soak would be an effective cleaner.
I was given an older Craftsman snowblower the other day, 10-15yrs old, 8hp 26". Pretty good shape for the age. It was locked up solid. The first thing I did when picking it up was check the oil. Just as I thought, it was run low on oil. It barely registered on the stick and was dirt black. I...
A friend of mine was asking about an issue a friend of his is having with an ice auger. It will not start when it is cold, like sub zero, but will start in warmer temps. He had it to a repair shop where they replaced the carb but is still having the same issue. I said it may be the crank seals...
I have been using Mobil 1 5w-30 in my 95 Ford F-150 since I got it a few years ago. I started using Mobil 1 0w-30 this winter. One thing I noticed with the 0w-30, is that the engine seems to warm up faster. Would the 0w make that big of a difference?
Toro snowthrower, #38185 4903283. Having issues with spark. It will run for a bit then die and will not always restart. When it does start again, it will only run for a few seconds and die again. I pull the plug and find it has no spark. There is a module on the flywheel shroud and when I tap on...
I was having issues with my Tech 5hp engine on a mower. It was having a hard time side discharging heavier grass and a real hard time mulching. It would bog down and die pretty easy in heavier grass. I recently added MMO to the oil, ran it for about 5hrs total and noticed that it was running...
Kohler Courage xt173 0084 smart choke system. Takes several pulls to start, even warm it can take several pulls to get it started. I have replaced the carb with no change. A leakdown test shows that air is getting into the crankcase. Piston is at TDC and the oil is not overfull. When running...
The other day I changed oil/filter on a 2005 Arctic Cat 650 V2 for a friend. I cut all of my oil filters apart to recycle the metal. When I cut this Kawasaki filter apart, I found the filter media was hard as a rock. I have never seen this before. Not sure if this is the original filter or not...
