How cold is to cold for 10w30 t-5

I never said that 10w30 was a better oil just because it started at -10. I stated that I have a cheaper alternative then using 5w40 for my application. In the temperatures that I encounter and duty cycle that I do 10w30 is as thick as I need. I'm well aware of the temp and weight...

    6.0 Powerstroke Question

How old are the battery's? If the battery's are weak then that will slowly kill the ficm. Which in turn will make the injectors lazy. Something else to consider If they are not weak and the ficm is not going bad. Try any 10-30 diesel oil. Look around and tons of results to prove that thicker is...

How cold is to cold for 10w30 t-5

Update, t-5 did just fine. Back home early, long story. At -10 it did drag the starter harder then normal. Ran just fine once I got some heat to the cylinders. The 10w30's can really handle temperature extremes. Alot cheaper then 5w40 and proven to take abuse and come back for more. Another...

    LTX MS2 tread depth

I envy the people that got the high mileage on the ltx ms2 . I ran 2 sets and only got 20-25k from each set. Both sets replaced under warranty due to wearing out prematurely.

    School me of Synthetic

T-6 will do just fine towing, I have done thousands of miles with it and tdt @ 5w40 no issues. Doesn't that model of cummins have 15k change intervals? While you acquired the oil at a good price failure to use it to the fullest potential is a waste to you and the environment. The information...

    Rotella T6 in a 12 VW Passat 2.0l TDI

While vw does have a dpf so do all the American diesels that speck the cj-4 rating. While vw specks a low-saps oil and cj-4 is more like a mid-saps oil,the differences are not that much. I believe there was several threads on the vw forum about the low-saps causing excessive wear vs. the...

Check the spark arrester in the muffler also. With that much oil coming out of the unit I would say the screen is carbon up severely witch would also cause the symptoms you are seeing. With the screen carboned up there is excessive back pressure slowly shutting the engine down.
