Definitive Pennzoil Ultra Platinum vs Mobil 1 ESP vs Amsoil vs Valvoline Restore and Protect

When Ljr was referring to certain FM and AW additives I think he mentioned Adeka, an Indian chemical and additive company: https://www.adeka.co.jp/en/chemical/products/surface/pro154c.html#sp01

Volume of Fluid Expansion for ATF's

This topic has been brought up a number of times on BITOG so here is a clarification and formula: I ran some calculations depending on total volume in Liters and temperature rise; ATF can expand 0.434L (434 mL) for 10L capacity and 0.521L (521 mL) for a 12L capacity for a temperature of 65F to...

ENEOS Import Model S CVT Fluid

And it could be that Idemitsu has simply not updated their labelling as well. Eneos did not state they retested type S to warrant the inclusion of the -iii transmission. Anytime a multivehicle ATF blender has added another transmission to their list is because the additive maker has tested...

ENEOS Import Model S CVT Fluid

The emphasis in bold shows no new formulation change was made specifically for the Lineartronic-iii, that is, it is still the same formulation as for -ii. What this infers is that I can safely use this Idemitsu SB2 product as well for the Lineartronic-iii...

How much does ATF expand from volume at 70F to volume at 125F?

I just realized we never really answered the original temperature rise question for 70F to 125F , so here goes: Vincreasedvolume = 0.0007/C X 11L X (52C - 21C) = 0.240L or 240mL or 1/4 of a quart. Some figures were rounded. I took 11L system capacity as a midrange value.

How much does ATF expand from volume at 70F to volume at 125F?

You are correct and thanks for noting the error. When I recalculated the volume expansion for 10 liters it is indeed 434 mL. For 12 liter capacity it is 521 mL. The 0.2L figure came from a test run calc for 4L which I did not properly explain. I have corrected those posts. Good show!

How much does ATF expand from volume at 70F to volume at 125F?

FWIW, if you want to do your own calculations on your trusty calculator or MatLab, here is the formula: DeltaV = Beta X Original Volume V X DeltaT DeltaV is increase in volume in Liters, Beta is the volumetric expansion coefficient per C given by data sources, (generally given as 0.0007/C for...

How much does ATF expand from volume at 70F to volume at 125F?

Of course, "I ran some calculations and depending on total volume in Liters." I ran the calculation using metric units and then converted as needed. Corrected: 0.434L expansion is for 10L capacity and .521 L expansion for 12L capacity. I used these capacities because they seemed to be average...

How much does ATF expand from volume at 70F to volume at 125F?

I ran some calculations and depending on total volume in Liters, Corrected: ATF can expand 0.170L for 4L to 0.5L for a capacity of 12 Liters for a temperature rise T of 62C, that is going from a temperature of 65F to 150F.

Voldemort was one of two of Harry Potter's antagonists; someone you throw into a discussion when you purposely ignore the FTC and chemistry.

Hogwash to the max. There is no proof that Enrico Fermi ever had any historical association with Lencki. Fermi's interests were in nuclear physics.

"...It is uncommon, however, for engines to experience premature failure caused by wear, whether they are treated with Slick 50 or not. Finally, the FTC alleges that Slick 50 neither coats engine parts with a layer of PTFE nor meets military specifications for motor oil additives..." Teflon...
