    Bee problem

Pretty sure I learned the following from this forum-and it works like a charm. Spray any area wasps like to build at with WD-40 every couple months: they hate the smell and will NOT build where it is. Seriously: I haven't had a nest in my shed for at least 5 years now. I do first spray when low...

Toyota T-IV ATF; substitute? Change interval?

On an 05 Matrix (2wd) the transmission does have a removable pan. I drained, dropped & cleaned the pan, changed the filter, then reinstalled the pan. Put in 4 qts(about 3.8 was drained), then did a cooler-line flush which is easy on this car: the return line has a simple rubber hose/clamp...

Stihl FS65AVE with Teikei carb won't start

Hi all. After lurking here for some time reading about old Stihl equipment, I expected to see a Walbro or Zama carb on this old trimmer. No such luck. A quick google search revealed not much love for the TK carbs: people said they were finicky and hard to keep running correctly. Quick history...

    Non-detergent oil in OPE?

Thanks: I feel better now. I've been slowly working my way thru my stash of ancient Castrol ND from my air-cooled days. Now I can drop some Rotella T6 in my 'new' riding mower: bet it'll love it. Happy mowing!

    Non-detergent oil in OPE?

Please forgive my ignorance: that's why I'm here. I grew up in air-cooled VWs and was always told NOT to use detergent oils in anything which didn't have an oil filter: "You don't want any crud to break loose and plug important passageways!" I've always bought/bartered/salvaged used OPE, and...

    WD-40 deters wasps!

I haven't bought any since I discovered PB in the 90s-then Kroil a decade ago. Very occasional use as starting fluid for my 30yo diesels. So, it was nice to find a use for the 5-6 cans which always seem to be stashed around my place in odd corners.

    WD-40 deters wasps!

Found this in one of those '1001 Uses For Everyday Items" books. I spray WD-40 on the inside peak and around the inner edges of my storage shed where I used to battle the buggers every year. Just a light mist, and I reapply every 3 months or so. Don't know if its the smell or if it makes it too...
