anyone noticed worse acceleration with fram ultra?

An oil filter / oil combo won't cause slow acceleration - no. If the filter was giving you a flow issue - you'd hear noises coming from the engine bay... clatters, that kind of thing. Using a 15w40 oil may give you a more sluggish engine response, but 0w20 m1 ep - probably not. If you're certain...

Toyota Genuine Motor Oil - old -vs new (latest)

They made the change from high Calcium w/ no Magnesium to the now standard cal/mag mix. Not sure if it happened with the old bottles or not.

Garbage Service - How much do you pay?

$96 every two months here in Oregon. That's for a large 95 gallon trash can and standard sized recycle (that's provided free). Green bin would be extra, so I skip that.

    Oil considerations Duratec 3.0 V6, 85k miles

The engine is super easy on oil. I've used 5w20 and 5w30, it doesn't seem to care either way. No change of fuel economy in my case. Unfortunately the gaskets are garbage... I've had the pan gasket, valve cover gaskets, timing cover gasket, cam seal, and the extra little gasket below the cam seal...

CK-4 Diesel Oil for old 6.0l PowerStroke?

Fair enough. I respectfully disagree though with the statement that higher quality 5w40 will hold their viscosity better and for longer. My personal UOA's... 5k or less... M1 TDT https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/foru...werstroke-4300mi-m1-tdt-5w40#Post3708174

CK-4 Diesel Oil for old 6.0l PowerStroke?

Really man? Your reaction is like someone standing on a rock wall, getting ready to dive into a lake. You ask a group of experienced people "of these three spots, where should I jump?" And everyone says "none - over here is safer because the water is deeper." And you get upset because nobody...

CK-4 Diesel Oil for old 6.0l PowerStroke?

I hate that they removed the mechanical assist from the injectors like the 7.3 had. Heck... I hate they changed a lot of mechanical things that the 7.3 had lol

I hate to pile on... but Roadrunner1 has done extensive UOA analysis and should be considered someone to be listened to on this one. His long track record convinced me to switch to 10w30 in my own truck back in 2014/2015. My truck was bulletproofed and tuned... often with a hot tune specifically...

Take a look at this thread... https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/3495982/1 The OP did a nice long comparison of multiple UOAs in his truck. He ran 7500mi OCIs on basic John Deere 10w30. The results helped show why HEUI and 10w30 were meant for each other. Here's my...
