Wix Oil Filters - Made In USA - Made In China

Thank you. This is a good point. I'm one of those people who have years of stock on hand, so that is a good point. I've gone through all my 46 Wix filters and pulled out the China ones (10 of them). I'll use these first and on the vehicles of the family members that I don't really give a ****...

Wix Oil Filters - Made In USA - Made In China

Thanks for the info! I have 46 Wix filters on hand right now, and 3 more on the way just to see what country they are made in, so that will be 49 in total and just changed the oil/filter in all 5 family vehicles (3 of which take the Wix filter). So at 10,000km intervals for the synthetic...

Wix Oil Filters - Made In USA - Made In China

But why? What's the difference between the two? I mean, I know they're different material but why do people think that nitrile is worse? And for me, I change Dino oil every 5,000 km and every 10,000 km for synthetic.

Wix Oil Filters - Made In USA - Made In China

Okay, so let's say for argument's sake that the ones made in China are made of nitrile. Is that a really, really bad thing?

So I admit I haven't been on this site for a few years now, but has something changed with Fram? Last time I was here everyone was calling Fram the OCOD (Orange Can Of Death). Now it's suddenly acceptable now???

Wix Oil Filters - Made In USA - Made In China

Is Full a brand. And I used to go to Napa for years, but haven't set foot in one for at least 7 years. Their prices are through the roof and their sale prices are more in line with regular prices at Walmart and Cambodian Tire. Even their monthly flyers are a laughing joke. I don't know how they...

Wix Oil Filters - Made In USA - Made In China

So the "thing" I was trying to describe is called a Bypass Valve? If so, the flush ones are better than the "protruding " ones? Also just as a update of sorts, I live in Canada, and I just ordered 3 more Wix filters off of Amazon.ca. They are sold and shipped by Amazon.ca however it looks like...

Wix Oil Filters - Made In USA - Made In China

I know this topic was discussed about a year ago in a similar thread (which I've read through), however despite a couple of people saying they would cut open the USA vs China made Wix filters to determine what the ADBV material was of, I have yet to see that anyone has done this yet. So while...

    Wix 51348

Are you positive it's nitrile? I get that the color is grey or black vs the red or orange, but how do you/we know the grey/black is nitrile and not silicone? Are you just assuming this from the color of it?

Anyone still like use wix mahnn filters now?

I'm happy to get filters (or anything) from anywhere, so long as the quality it there and the price is right. Although it sounds virtuous to calim you don't support products from socialist, or communist countires, or child labor, the reality it almost everything you already have and buy daily is...

Wix 57356 vs Napa Gold 7356

Thanks everyone for your comments. Based on them I've ordered a dozen of the Wix 67356 from that company. We'll see how it goes. I'm also hopeful when/if they arrive they'll be ones made in the USA like all my other Wix and Napa filters have been. Thanks again for your comments.

How To Get Email Notifications For Replies To A Post?

Can someone tell me if there is a setting I can choose (I've looked and can't find it) that allows an email to be sent to me when someone replies to one of my posts? It used to happen automatically, or there was at least an option to receive an immediate email when a reply to the post happened...

Wix 57356 vs Napa Gold 7356

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't find any actual information by doing a search here. I'm in Canada and I normally use Napa Gold 7356 filters. It's hit or miss if I can get Napa to give me a discount if I buy a case of 12 (which they call a Master Pack). I've always heard...

Oil Recommendations To Mitigate Sludge In Short Drives

Thank you for your comments. I didn't realize that you could see sludge on the underside of your oil filler cap. Would that be the white creamy stuff that occasionally you see? I can't recall seeing it recently, but I have seen it at some point in my life. I just didn't know what it meant. And...

Oil Recommendations To Mitigate Sludge In Short Drives

I'm not really assuming an issue per se, but having read other threads about short trips, and the oil not getting up to temperature, that sludge can develop because of that. This was more a preventative question then it is a problem right now. There is no problem that I'm aware of at all, but if...

Oil Recommendations To Mitigate Sludge In Short Drives

My daughter has a 2009 Hyundai Accent 1.6 L standard transmission. For the last several years, I have been using Castrol GTX Dino in 5W20, which is what is specified for this car. I also use Valvoline 5W20 Dino as well on occasion. The thing with her car, however, is that she does primarily...
