    Gold vs. Platinum

Here I thought this was going to be a thread about NAPA filters or Pennzoil lubricants. Oh well.

    Amazon Fire TV vs. Roku?

Have you used Plex at all? Depending on the videos you are viewing, plex is an awesome way to distribute your personal media collection.

    Amazon Fire TV vs. Roku?

Depending on what you would like to do with the device, it would change my recommendation. What would you like to do with the device?

    Planting Grass help

If you go the software route, be careful. If the sod is planted in soil that contains more clay than your soil, water will have a hard time getting down to the Sandy soil. This means the grass roots won't ever grow deeply into your soil.

    Old credit card

The one thing I would caution in closing a credit line is the way it could impact the average age of your accounts. If you have one REALLY old credit line, and a lot of new credit lines your average may be a few years old. If you close the old credit line it may make the average age of credit...

    Battle with Century Link

I have dealt with a few techs from varying companies and the secret is to get them to like you. Don't just be nice for the sake of getting what you want, but generally be a good person. When the come, offer them water (or soda, or tea, or juice, or whatever) offer to help (although you probably...

    Tire Decision

If you can get it done at a costco I would recommend it. Not only are they consistently the cheapest, but they also have free flat repair, and at some places free tire rotations.

    OLM Or Time?

Thats the only thing that concerns me too. When we bought the car, we got offered "5 years" of free oil changes. We took it in every time the the time came up. We would only put 2000 miles or so on the car before it was time (as in, the time interval was up) to change the oil. We ran out of...

    OLM Or Time?

Sorry, its an 09 Honda Civic Hybrid. I live about 2 miles from work and my wife drops me off some days(we only have the one car). So it gets at least 2 short trips per day. She also runs errands through the day occasionally. About once a month or so, we take a longer trip either for recreation...

    OLM Or Time?

The last time I had my oil changed was at the dealership in April (4 months ago). Since then, I have put about 1,000-2,000 miles on my car. The oil life still says about 80%. I should also mention, I do not know what type of oil was put in my car. My wife had the oil change done. I also have a...

    2013-2014 Ford Fusion (Hybrid)

The interior of the Fusion just seems like it is better put together than the Camry. I am sure they are both quality cars, but I think the interior of the Fusion fits together better. Also, I love how the exterior of the Fusion looks. I was just wondering about the reliability of the cars. I...

Norton eating my lunch? (and other stuff..)

My 2 cents: Norton is a joke. The only program that is more of a joke is made by McAfee. AVG and Avast are my two favorites. The only issue is that they continually try to make you pay for the fee version. You just have to make sure to stick with the free version. AVG has less popups than Avast.

    2013-2014 Ford Fusion (Hybrid)

I'm going to be purchasing a car in the next year or so and am considering the new Fusions. Anyone have experience with the vehicle? I'm not yet sure whether I want to get the hybrid or non hybrid model, so experience on either model will be helpful. And I also heard they are pushing out an...

I am going to specifically thank those who have lost loved ones in war time. Like was said previously, you made our way of life possible. Thank you, and we are sorry for your loss.

    Synthetic vs organic fertilizer

+1 for the grass clippings. I mentioned this earlier, but cannot stress how important this is. Regardless of your soil, regardless of where you live, regardless of your climate, this is the single best thing you can do for your lawn. Also, I agree with your statement about organic lawns. Lawns...

    Synthetic vs organic fertilizer

For lawns, Humus (not Hummus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Humus) is a great way to reduce the Ph of your lawn. Actually, It does not really reduce the Ph, but rather creates an excellent buffer (increases it's CEC capacity to put it in chemical terms). This allows the lawn to hold more nutrients...

    Synthetic vs organic fertilizer

I live in an area that has the exact same issue. High clay alkaline soils. Also, I am an environmental science major (just graduated last week, so I haven't yet forgotten what I learned in college). With these types of soils, there are two main problems. 1. Lack of nutrients and 2. Lack of...
