    Emergency Brake Internal Lube

I broke down a pair of 00-05 Deville Rear Calipers to powder coat. It has the internal e-brake function. I am curious what kind of lube I should use. There is a needle bearing as seen here. The factory appeared to just white lithium grease from what was left but could be way off? Would using the...

    Oldsmobile Aurora 'Best' 10w30

0w-40 all year...? I would be looking to majorly increase OCI. No way I would get that kind of mileage before winter is up.

So, what are the thoughts about running the Rotella T6? 5w-40 all year long and extending my OCI.

    Oldsmobile Aurora 'Best' 10w30

It is true. They run anywhere from ~200*+ at operating temperature. Low speed fans doesn't turn on until 229" and high speed at 234* from factory!

    Oldsmobile Aurora 'Best' 10w30

And that does lead to next question lol. I see a lot of people running 10w-40 and 15w-40 in these engines. Most say they do it to keep the oil pressure in tip top shape on a high mileage N*. So, what about 5w-40 for winter or even as the above poster states 0w-40...?

    Oldsmobile Aurora 'Best' 10w30

Yes, I keep my two Auroras well maintained. I am aware of cooling system issues and pulled head bolts and the likes. They are a warm running engine. However, there there are some things you can do get the fans to turn on at a more desirable temp. Settings are too high IMO from factory. One...

    Oldsmobile Aurora 'Best' 10w30

Thanks for the answers guys! Many differing opinions but look as if most lean toward the maxlife 5w-30 not ony for winter but for all year. Dailydriver, just curious why you would suggest 0W-30?

    Oldsmobile Aurora 'Best' 10w30

Looking for opinions on which brand/type of oil to use. The common question haha... I drive a 1996 Oldsmobile Aurora with 107,000. It has a 4.0L aluminum V8. Same engine as the Cadillac 4.6L Northstar with smaller displacement. The owners manual calls for 10w30 with Starburst label/API. I...

Mixing Clear PS w/ DEX VI

I have read around the forum but never came up with a concrete answer on if it is okay to mix clear power steering fluid with DEX VI. The service manual states. Quote: GM Power Steering Fluid (GM Part No. 1052884 - 1 pt.,1050017 - 1 qt., or equivalent). Instead of flushing all the old out is...
