    Hybrid brakes and calipers

I've seen the same thing on my Prius and HAH. I did front brake jobs on both when getting vibrations braking. I don't think it's stuck pins, just that corrosion eats the rotor faster than the pads can clean it up.

Thinking about a 2019+ Ford Edge or other SUV in the large compact/small midsize range

He ended up getting a 2024 Edge ST-Line. I guess his budget was bigger than I had thought. Hope it's good for him.

Thinking about a 2019+ Ford Edge or other SUV in the large compact/small midsize range

I have heard the 3.5L has a troublesome water pump location and I think the fuel economy with the 2.0T would be quite a bit better. Maybe the 3.5 would be the more reliable engine, though. Any reasons why you are recommending those? Seem like they are both subcompacts. He tried a 2020 CR-V...

Thinking about a 2019+ Ford Edge or other SUV in the large compact/small midsize range

FWIW, I'm asking because I'm the family "car guy" and helping him to pick out and research. I really haven't paid attention to SUVs though, so I'm open to the suggestions of the group.

Thinking about a 2019+ Ford Edge or other SUV in the large compact/small midsize range

My father-in-law's 2012 (?) Ford Escape failed on a long trip a couple of weeks ago and he's looking for a new car. He's 70+ with a large frame. Looking for something more comfortable than the Escape, but I think he would be best off without getting anything TOO big. Looks like a budget of...

Do hybrids last as long as naturally aspirated engine and do they make sense?

MG1 is connected to the sun gear and is used as a motor for high speed cruise and max acceleration: (Page 1-5, "Full Throttle Acceleration and High Speed Cruise")

    2019 Tucson A/C dead

What if it's the evaporator? Was the factory fill of refrigerant dyed? I don't like the shotgun approach. Find the problem and fix that.

Rhino ramps filled with structural foam?

I did a google search on spray foam compressive strength and the first hit was a Garage Journal thread that seemed pretty good. Here is one reference: https://commercial.owenscorning.com/assets/0/144/172/174/c273fe0e-e0c8-4bb2-9ed3-6e3ba390a12c.pdf Depending on the spray foam, you might have...

Tie rod or wheel bearing more likely for left to right clunk?

If you are doing inner tie rods, there's a tool you can get from Autozone that makes the job easy... basically a big pipe that holds crows-foot wrenches on the end.

Tie rod or wheel bearing more likely for left to right clunk?

Might try the sway bar links first since IME they are the most common cause of clunks and also they are E-Z to replace. Sway bar links will clunk when one wheel hits a bump, but NOT SO MUCH if both wheels are hitting it at the same time, like a speed bump.

    Honda paywalls garage door opener

Once you get to the level of "smash window", most houses can be entered. In our house, you don't even have to go in through a door or window - all you need is a utility knife and you can slash through the wall (vinyl siding/foam sheathing/drywall) .

Looking for low profile ramps for Mazda cx3

I think the purpose for those ramps is if you have a really low car, you drive it up onto the ramps and it gives you a couple inches of clearance so that you can get a jack under it.

What to look out for buying a used Crown Victoria?

My son is looking at a 2006 Crown Victoria tomorrow. 115k miles and a replaced transmission with warranty. Looks pretty good to me. Car is in California and looks like it's rust-free. I know these were kind of a meme about being amazing indestructible used cars but what's the real scoop on...

Who has the most miles on an original clutch?

I think my Ranger was at 305-310k when the slave died. Clutch plate still looked good. Two teens learned on it. My Accord started slipping at 220k. Volvo s40 T5 was still good at 250k+ (285?) when the car was totaled.
