    Color of oil

I've always been impressed with how light and clear chevron conventional oils pour out of the bottle compared to others, even full syn oils. Otherwise yes, oil gets dirty by using it. Color isn't an indication of condition necessarily however. An engine that gets routine changes with quality...

    Walmart stock on 0W-20???

Yeah Amazon for the win if you have prime and your local WM is lame. There's 4 WM stores within a reasonable distance to me. They all have totally different stock when it comes to oil and filters. For instance one store has 5w30 magnatec all day every day, the other 3 do not have any...

    Sentury and Dextero Tires ?

Dexteros are solid. Bought a used truck years ago with a brand new set, I would have never bought them personally, but they turned out to be a great tire. Sold the truck 60 something thousand miles later and they still had good tread remaining.

How often do you check your oil level?

Check the wife's car weekly, since the newer Foresters like hers tend to burn oil. Even with 77k miles on hers, it still uses less than a qt per 7k interval, but it has me paranoid. My other vehicles only get checked a few times a year because they accumulate only a few k miles yearly if that...

Do you change air filter by looks or miles?

I go by miles. On modern vehicles that get driven regularly in normal city/hwy conditions, usually 30k miles. My severe service (short trip/infrequent/harsh use) vehicles get the same mileage based replacement intervals but 10 or 15k miles. The Harley and old hot rod truck are visual based...

Oil: brand loyal or sale loyal?

Sale loyal for sure these days, but I gravitate towards shell, castrol, and chevron products in particular.

    Cross it off the list

Cross off everything European unless it's a lease. Cross off every new diesel because of all the emissions components. Cross off anything made by Chrysler. Cross off Auto stop/start that can't be disabled. CVT trans has come a long way, they're much better now. I'm not a huge fan of DI...

    SAE 10W

Genuine GM Fluid 12345982 Supercharger oil -4oz It's the only supercharger oil I've ever used. Couldn't tell you the viscosity or whether or not it's a detergent oil, but it's never failed me. It wouldn't surprise me if it were a 10w, it's pretty thin.
