How much trouble taking off valve cover ?

I have a 1998 Toyota Camry V6 (1MZ) that's a known sludger, I've done 2 ARX cycles and would like to see what she looks like. Is this pretty easy ? I don't want to do it if it's too much trouble. FWIW, I'm pretty mechanically inclined. I would also assume a new gasket is required ?

    Redline and clutch slippage ??

I did many searches last night and read through many posts and couldn't find wheather RL causes clutch slippage. Everyone seems to like it for it's cleaning ability and I thought it would be perfect for a Sport bike and also my dirt bike. I wanted to run the 10w-40 or 15w-40 and couldn't find a...

    2 oil change questions ?

First does anyone else wear gloves when they change oil. For instance I get those throwaway gloves at the grocery store. I find that the dirt doesn't get under your fingernails, as well the oil normally takes many hand washings (sp) to get off. Also I try to replace the crush washer each time...

Any problem with adding extra oil ?

I have a MC that shares engine/transmission oil. The manual calls for 3.6 liter (3.80 quart) when changing the oil. I usually buy oil by the gallon and wanted to know if it would be a problem to just round it off. It really doesn't look like that much extra. BTW I hate having gallons and quarts...

    My new "to me" truck.

I've been wanting a cheap truck for a while. Picked this up from a business for $1800 1999 F150 longbed, 71,000 miles, 4.2 V6, 5 speed, no options at all. In other words, perfect !! Apparently businesses are allowed to write off a vehicle for so many years, they just bought a new truck and I...

Amsoil AME (15w-40) better that MCF ??

I'm going to be using this in both a 450 dirtbike and a sportbike. Both are very hard on oil. AS I understand the Diesel oil is okay for a wet clutch, I figured that the 15w-40 would hold up better than the 10w-40. It seems that it would be a step above the Rotella T and Delo.

Just bought an w'06 KX450F dirtbike, a few questions

I just put about an our on it Sunday and changed the oil today. Wow it only holds 1 quart, as well the oil looked really rough. It looked "glittery" like there was a lot of engine parts shearing down. I also wanted to get some recommendations on oil. I have some new formula amsoil 10w-40 as...

Will FP60 settle in gas ??

I added some FP60 in my motorcycle gas tank (probably a little too much) and I had to get my tire fixed so I dropped my bike off for probably a week and a half. When I started it, it smoked quite a bit, kinda like when valve seals have gone bad. I know this isn't the case, I've gone 4,000 miles...

    How to beat a Harley

I raced a Harley today and after some really hard riding I managed to PASS the guy. I was riding on one of those really, really twisting sections of canyon road with no straight sections to speak of and where most of the curves have warning signs that say "15 MPH". I knew if I was going to pass...

LC20 ok in a wet clutch motorcycle ?

Since there are more posts here on LC20 I thought I'd check and see if anyone had tried to use it in a wet clutch motorcycle. The way a motorcycle breaks down oil I thought this product might better keep the oil in the correct viscosity range.

    Auto-RX on 1999 F150 4.2 manual.

I just bought a 1999 F150 w/t with 69,000 miles on it for $1800. (good deal huh) I just changed the oil and started Auto-RX treatment. This truck has had a rough life w/ very little care and unknown maintenence. It's also had a lot of dirt road miles. I used Auto RX in my 150,000 mile 1998 Camry...

http://www.motorcycledaily.com/12june05_yamaha2006star.htm http://www.yamaha-motor.com/star/products/modelhome/482/0/home.aspx I don't thing they'll break H-D sales records, but they look like very well put together bikes. The 1852cc air cooled motor is supposed to be very strong, better than...

Need advice. Just bought Kawasaki STX15F 4-stroke

I just have about 2 hours on it but have a few questions. As I understand it needs 10w-40. I'm not sure if there's a particular brand that's required. Also regarding maintence, everything is in hours so I just wanted an idea on how that would compare to miles. Also wanted to see when to switch...

Anyone try to new formula Amsoil.

I haven't heard anything on it for a while. Wanted to see if anyone purchased it. It would be nice to see a VOA and eventually a UOA. I'm isterested to see the additive pack and how well it holds up. I would get some but I still have a supply of AMF as well as some M1 red cap 15w-50.
