    Toyota OEM OF

I've owned several Toyotas over the years and usually use the oem filters as they are fairly inexpensive. About $4 a piece. Anybody (I am sure there is) know if these filters are worth using or am I wasting my $$ and engines by doing so?? Thinking about using Wix and Castrol Edge 0W-20 when the...

No more steel canister filters huh?

well i did have a pickup that was up and down.I mean instead if just wiping the sealing surface clean and screwing the new on now you have clean out the old oil, and use a o ring etc. Not much more just a few extra steps that you never did with steel cans. Its all easy to an old wretch like me...

No more steel canister filters huh?

Is it on the newer Toyotas or is all the auto world going to just pleated refill cartridges? Its a little more of a PIA to do but its ok with me. I can see whats in the pleats and what was in my oil. Kinda messy too. Ive been changing my own oil for over 40 years up until just a few years ago...

New car 1st OC. when to change factory fill?

I know some of you like to get the factory fill out soon after break in. Is that mandatory with the new cars now or is it OK to wait until 1st recommended service at 10,000 mi? I think not myself! I want to change it now with 2500 mi not at 10,000. Any thought's. Thanks

Just had the first OC on my new 12 accord. The dealer did the work. I have a two year, unlimited mileage OC for free. I checked the dipstick after setting for over 2 hours and it is well above the full mark. I called the service desk and they informed me that it was ok to be over full. I have a...

    Meguiars NXT Wax

Howdy, I just bought a new car and I used the new Meguiars NXT 2.0 wax on it and it seems really nice to put on and take off. Safe for clearcoat too. Hasn't rained yet so don't know how well it will bead but I bet it is good. Seems to be a polymer coating so it last for a while here in the rainy...

    Old school oil changer

Just bought a new 12 Accord. Honda says change at 20% on MM. I think it should be done much sooner. I believe with almost 2000 mi on the FF oil, it should be changed to rid of the break in contaminants, right? Or should I put some more miles on it? Most of the miles are freeway at 60 or 70 mph...
