    I was at the Honda dealer (Larry Hopkins in Sunnyvale, CA) last week, and I saw Honda brand 0W-20 dino oil on the shelf for $3.50 per qt. There you go, if your mom must use 0W-20 oil.

    You can try 5w-20 in the winter time and 5w-30 in the summer heat.

    Mobil 5000 base is (almost) all Grp III, so it can be labelled as "syn-blend" like other manufacturers.

    Motorcraft synblend is a good oil, I would not worry using it, even if it didn't say it meets the GM spec.

    Either one will work for your application. Mobil 5000 is cheaper than Pennzoil dino at my neighborhood, and it is all Grp III, so I would use it over the Pennzoil.

    If you are nervous about using MC oil, there are other quality oil that meet the GM 6094M, such as Castro Syntec blend, or Mobil 5000. At $1.70 / qt (at Walmart), Mobil 5000 is only slightly more expensive than MC. Now that Walmart stops carrying MC oils, I am thinking about using this new oil...

    To all recent Honda Owners- At what mileage did you change your factory fill?

    2004 TL 6MT, first changed at 4250 miles to MC 5W20 + MLEP (to increase the Moly). Now at 7700 miles and no oil consumption. Will change again around 8500 miles and do a oil analysis. Hope to go to 5000 OCI after that.

    Just Bought new accord what oil and filter

    I would just use Honda OEM Filters (15400-PLM-A01 ~$6.00 each or 15400-PCX-004 ~$10.00 each) and the new Motocraft 5w20 Synblend at $1.44/quart from Walmart.
