    NAPA European oil

If it says it meets LL04 then it meets LL04, they don’t need permission from BMW to say it meets LL04 and put LL04 on the oil specs. There are sometimes OEM recommendations for a particular oil and some Manufacturers sell other manufacturers oil in their own branded containers, Mercedes and BMW...

    NAPA European oil

Which one of those meet the BMW LL-01 specs? I use Shell Helix HX8 5w40 in the Smart and 7 Series. Would have to order Castrol 5w40 meeting LL04 online. But then the Castrol Edge 5w40 that meets LL04 doesn’t meet RN0700/0710 I have used Castrol Edge 5w30 for years as Costco stock it. But...

    NAPA European oil

Or they have paid for the approval? If any oil meets the BMW Longlife oil specs it’s already a fairly decent oil. And since Longlife specs are intended to allow BMW to specify 20k mile or 2 year Service Intervals in Europe I would suggest any oil that meets them is a great choice for somebody...

There isn’t a regulation that specifies when your Warranty is invalidated in the UK, or the EU as UK Law still mirrors EU Law. Ford is very happy to invalidate your Warranty on a car with an EcoBoom if you haven’t followed the maintenance schedule correctly. Ford is also not great when it...

Recommended time based oil change on BMW N52?

I can’t remember what filter was in my 745Le when I changed the oil a month or so ago, I am fairly certain it was marked BMW though, I replaced it with Bosch. The air filter was changed aswell, I used Bosch aswell.

The only Manufacturer that I know do an oil analysis for sure is Audi, with engines that should only have 508/509. As far as invalidating the 3 Yr Manufacturers Warranty BMW allow you to go 10k miles past the due mileage before they invalidate the Warranty, which is mad, because the standard...

BMW are particularly picky when it comes to refusing Warranty and Goodwill. Their Customer Service in the UK is also shockingly bad. I have extended the Warranty for a year and will do so again for a fifth year if the car is under 100k miles, as BMW Extended Warranty is Unlimited Miles but you...

    New Amsoil European Viscosities

I think you are confusing how things work in the USA with how things work in the rest of the World Where a manufacturer of a vehicle states which oil specs are required or acceptable, like 508/509, LL04 or RN0700/0710 in my case. If the oil manufacturer states the oil meets those specs then it...

That it meets the specs required by the engine it is going into would be a good thing. If it doesn’t meet 508/509 it isn’t going in my daughters Q2 If it doesn’t meet RN0700/RN0710 it isn’t going in the Smart If it doesn’t meet one of the required BMW LongLife specs in the handbook then it...

Why should I buy Mazda branded oil when I can get this Idemitsu oil for half the price?

In my experience Audi use the correct 508/509 oil in vehicles that spec it. And BMW Dealers use BMW branded oil, I don’t care one bit who makes it

Who makes BMW's "store brand" oil?

20k miles or 2 years is a fairly standard OCI in Europe. The exact interval can vary depending on usage as its condition based servicing. When I bought my car it had a 17k mile interval, after 50k miles in my hands the service interval is now 20k miles. I am surprised that somebody with a...

    BMW 230i (B46) oil

Maybe in the US In the UK there is no such thing as Petrol oil or Diesel oil. The spec is the spec, BMW adopted LL04 not own for diesel and one for petrol. I think some people don’t realise oil specs are not chosen by Politicians outside the USA Hence why US market BMW handbooks don’t list...

    BMW 230i (B46) oil

The packaging is not like the UK Castrol oils Castrol markets a couple of oils that meet LL04, one has LL where that oil has K, I think the other has an M. I would have to double check as they are both in my local Costco.
