Well, I do a lot of extra driving with my vehicles (hunting, camping, trips back to the east coast). We have a lot of family come out here for vacations and are always taking them to the Grand Canyon, Mt. Rushmore, skiing, etc. And, every so often - I hit the road and drive back to Pennsylvania...

So, if I run Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w30 & Napa Gold filters I should be good to go for 6k miles? Is oil analysis something I am going to have to do constantly - or only the first couple of times to make sure the oil is holding up to my climate & type of driving?

I have (2) new vehicles that I would like to get some of your opinions on, well, the oil actually... ;-) The first is a 2004 Jeep Liberty w/ the 3.7 V6 and 3050 miles. The second is a 2004 Dodge Dakota w/ the 4.7 V8 and 1300 miles. My goal with each vehicle is to get away from the 3000 mile...
