    2-cycle fuel for 4-cycle lawnmower

I run the Saber at 85:1 all the time in all of my equipment, two and four stroke. It will not smoke, it will not foul the plug, and will not run differently. Makes it easy: one can.

Anyone want to do me a favor?

About 2500 yards per day (50 laps in a competition pool). Speedo Jammers and Sweeds goggles. Beer keeps a small spare tire on me though.

She nailed the broth - PHO

Yum! Cinnamon, star anise, lemon grass, oxtail, onion…. I’ve had Pho for lunch that last two days. It’s funny, my wife’s Vietnamese, but when we make pho at home, I make it. The funniest named Vietnamese noodle house I’ve seen is Pho King, near Stockton Ave. in Sacramento. For those of you who...

Any thoughts on volvo S60 2.5T?

More on Volvo turbos. In the old days when their (and others) turbochargers were oil-only cooled, the expected lifespan was only 80-120K miles. The newer generation turbos (since the mid to late 80’s), their expected lifespan has increased significantly. It’s not uncommon to get 300-400 K miles...

    Mine works great. Love it.

    Brew taste like.....yuck.

Hour long boils are the bare minimum to get proper conversion of the hop's humulones (what comprises the alpha acids and what provides bitterness to balance out malt sweetness). These do not boil out over a long boil, they become more efficiently converted to bittering units. What boils out are...

    Deep Fried Turkey

Brining and Salt: Yes, the type of salt makes a difference. Rule one: use plain table salt -- iodized salt can impart an iodine flavor (I can taste it). Rule two: Don’t waste your money on Kosher or “sea salt.” I’ve experimented with both and they perform no differently than plain table salt. I...

    OBDII Scanner

Does anybody have experience with PC-based OBDII scanners/software? I’m looking to purchase one, but don’t know which one to buy or which software to used. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!

    Deep Fried Turkey

Yes Mori. That's basically it. The way it works on the cellular level is once you submerge the bird in the salt and sugar solution, water from the bird leaves it’s cells to try to “dilute” the solution, the cells try to find equilibrium with the solution, sucking (technical term) the water back...

Need suggestions on a new mower

Home Depot still has honda's. Get one with a Xenoy deck, hydrostatic drive, and the 6.5 hp GC engine. You will not be disapointed.

    Deep Fried Turkey

I brine mine overnight in a solution of non-iodized table salt and table sugar. The basic ratio is 1 cup salt to 2 cups sugar and 1 gallon water. This creats a hypertonic solution that will season the turkey meat throughout the bird while significantly improving it's moisture. Then, I either...

    Homebrew Literature

I like Dave Miller's "Homebrewing Guide." I think that Papazian is a Gumby. I vote for one gauge. I have two 2-gauge regulators and have broken the bottle pressure gauge on both so many times that I've finally put a quarter inch plug in the gauge hole.

    Mold Test Kit

As an industrial hygienist, I can tell you that mold is a very difficult subject to grapple. One of the more significant concerns is that there are no regulatory standards for mold assessment or abatement. This is for two reasons. 1. science on mold is immature, and 2. not everybody is affected...

Not sure about Redline for my Nissan??

I have SF in my Jeep's Dana 35C. From noise and limited slip performance, it's been an excellent lube. It noticably quited down gear whine, and it's provided the best limited slip performance of any fluid I've used to date. These inlude: Factory syn., Amsoil, Schaeffers, and M1. It gets my vote.

    DIFFERENTIAL CLEANING

I use brake cleaner or carb cleaner, and good wipe out with some clean shop rags, and let it dry/evaporate. Even with premium syn, I get build up in my Jeep's Dana 35c.
