Hole in my gas tank. Dealership wants 700 bucks

If it's only a small leak, I would clean it, sand it, clean it again, and use some JB Weld. I've seen this stuff used on cracked blocks before with good results. I also like the ideas of getting an old tank from the junkyard. Bottom line: Don't pay the 700. Any decent mechanic or weekend...

You're right - relative velocity. That, however, just further supports the "heavier cars are safer" theory. EDIT: Indy beat me to it!

As mentioned before by SteveSRT8, these crash tests should be taken with a grain of salt. As a firefighter, I have seen plenty of car accidents. Despite all the different shapes and sizes that these accidents come in, one thing always holds true: the larger, heavier cars/trucks tend to do a...

K & N Air Filters Good Or Bad?

I wouldn't be so narrow minded. We all know that there is no "one size fits all" oil, so why would there be a "one size fits all" filter and intake systm? These systems can and do work on my cars. Detroit engineers compromises. They trade off a free flow intake for one that reduces noise (see...

K & N Air Filters Good Or Bad?

I don't know about you, but during that 1% of the time that I'm at WOT, I want as much power as possible from my truck. The free flow filters and low-friction intakes can help provide that power. When dealing with the K&N intake kits, let's not forget that they typically provide colder air to...

    Are fog lights necessary?

I think it really depends on the vehicle (or, rather, the specific fog lamp and its placement on said vehicle.) The fogs on my Durango came from the factory aimed all the way down and were worthless. After aiming them properly I notice that they provide a nice amount of light at a wider angle –...

K & N Air Filters Good Or Bad?

Well, I think they filter as good as with more flow - not better with more flow. This is important to note as I think some people buy these filters expecting better filtration. Anyway, real data on air filters seems hard to come by. I did a lot of research on K&N before I dropped money on their...

K & N Air Filters Good Or Bad?

K&N filters are not for your mother-in-law's car. They are designed to be checked, cleaned, and properly oiled by someone who knows how to follow directions. If used properly they will filter as well as any paper element while allowing greater air flow. If you need more filtration from a K&N...
