Update on the MicroGuard filters for the A4. They are now made in Vietnam:(.

I used to use MicroGaurd for my A4 because they were made by Mann(in Germany or Poland) and only 6 bucks. Now they are made in Vietnam. Switched back to Mann which is still made in Germany.

Its hard to separate the wheat from the chaff on this one. I have a 2019 tig and have been using the 0-20w. Can not get a straight answer about changing to a different weight oil and still stay within the boundaries of my engine warranty. It appears 0-20w with a 508 rating is the only way to go...

In toronto, I would go with the A4. I am not sure I would compare the vw to the A4. They are a bit different in class. Audi has made the A4's very reliable over the past two platforms. I had the PCV valve done and a freak steering rack replacement. Other than that it has been solid.

I have been using the white micro gaurds on my Audi A4. There is a video floating around that show about 20 different manufacturers for that particular filter. It is the same as the factory oem model. Can not beat the 5 dollar price.

If you have an Oriellys local.. go get their brand filter. Found it for 5 bucks last month. Made in Germany... oem.

Being your second oil change after getting the car, I would go for low OCI. It might give you the chance to spot issues if you do it yourself.

Take pictures of the receipt and parts. For oil changes put the filter in front of the dash and take a picture to show the odometer reading. Upload everything to google drive folder and log it in a google spreadsheet. If you ever go to sell you can just send them a link to inspect the google...
