affect my oils engine protection? will it affect cold oil visc.? and is it possible to quiete down a noisy engine that I suspect has sticking lifter on one side(which is what made me get auto-rx) I dont doubt it will clean the engine at all from what i've seen so I know it will be worth it anyways

Hey 9C1, im from Berwyn too, and I also got a 95 LT1 9C1 Im running M1 5w-30 and I dont really like that weight, I guess i'll switch to M1 0w-40 when I change my oil this weekend.

I was thinking of going with something besides "5w30 CAFE"(what the oil fill cap says) because when I start my Caprice(99k miles) the LT1 engine is noisy for a few minutes, then its quiete. I was thinking this might be due to the M1 beeing a thinner 5w30... how would 10w30 M1 do? its synthetic...

Is it a bad idea to run the same weight oil year round? im asking because im using Mobil 1 5-30 in my LT1 with 6k mile OCI, and I only put around 3-4k a year... the oil im using is said to be a little too thin for my motor. Btw im doing an oil change soon would Mobil 1 0w-40 be better or...
